I will provide for you there, because five years of famine are still to come. Otherwise you and your household and all who belong to you will become destitute.’

约瑟用粮食奉养他父亲和他弟兄，并他父亲全家的眷属，都是照各家的人口奉养他们。

又说：“你们诚然是废弃神的诫命，要守自己的遗传。摩西说：‘当孝敬父母’；又说：‘咒骂父母的，必治死他。’你们倒说：‘人若对父母说：我所当奉给你的，已经作了各耳板’（各耳板就是供献的意思），以后你们就不容他再奉养父母。

若寡妇有儿女，或有孙子孙女，便叫他们先在自己家中学着行孝，报答亲恩，因为这在神面前是可悦纳的。

埃及地都在你面前，只管叫你父亲和你弟兄住在国中最好的地；他们可以住在歌珊地。你若知道他们中间有什么能人，就派他们看管我的牲畜。”

你们倒说：‘无论何人对父母说：我所当奉给你的已经作了供献，他就可以不孝敬父母。’这就是你们藉着遗传，废了神的诫命。
