Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh.“ For,” he said,“ God has made me forget all my hardship and all my father’s house.”

Joseph named his older son Manasseh, for he said,“ God has made me forget all my troubles and everyone in my father’s family.”

Joseph named the firstborn Manasseh and said,“ God has made me forget all my hardship and my whole family.”

让他喝了，就忘记他的贫穷，不再记得他的苦楚。

在地上为自己求福的，必凭真实的神求福；在地上起誓的，必指着真实的神起誓。因为从前的患难已被遗忘，从我眼前消逝。”

我必不长久控诉，也不永远怀怒，因为我虽使灵性发昏，我也造了人的气息。

我未到埃及你那里之前，你在埃及地所生的以法莲和玛拿西这两个儿子，现在他们是我的，正如吕便和西缅是我的一样。

随后又有七个荒年，甚至埃及地的人都忘了先前的丰收，这地必被饥荒所灭。

然后，约瑟牵着他们两个，带到父亲跟前，右手牵以法莲到以色列的左边，左手牵玛拿西到以色列的右边。以色列却伸出右手来，按在次子以法莲的头上，又交叉伸出左手来，按在长子玛拿西的头上。

女子啊，要倾听，要思想，要侧耳而听！不要记念你本族和你父家，

约瑟对父亲说：“我父，不是这样。这个才是长子，请你把右手按在他头上。”他父亲却不肯，说：“我知道，我儿，我知道。他也要成为一族，也要强大。可是他的弟弟将来比他还要强大；他弟弟的后裔要成为许多国家。”以色列就在当日为他们祝福，说：“以色列人要指着你们祝福，说：‘愿神使你如以法莲、玛拿西一样。’”于是他立以法莲在玛拿西之上。
