Then Belshazzar commanded his servants to dress Daniel in purple clothes. So they did. They put a gold chain around his neck. And he was made the third highest ruler in the kingdom.

He put the robe on Mordecai. And he led him on horseback through the city streets. He walked along in front of him and announced,“ This is what is done for the man the king wants to honor!”After that, Mordecai returned to the palace gate. But Haman rushed home. He covered his head because he was very sad.

The orders were written in the name of King Xerxes himself. And they were stamped with his own official mark.
