and after a while his master’s wife took notice of Joseph and said,“ Come to bed with me!”

After a while, his master’s wife noticed Joseph. She said to him,“ Come to bed with me!”

And after a time his master’s wife cast her eyes on Joseph and said,“ Lie with me.”

and Potiphar’s wife soon began to look at him lustfully.“ Come and sleep with me,” she demanded.

After some time his master’s wife looked longingly at Joseph and said,“ Sleep with me.”

And it came about after these events that his master’s wife had her eyes on Joseph, and she said,“ Sleep with me.”

A wife that committeth adultery! that taketh strangers instead of her husband!

She doted upon the Assyrians, governors and rulers, her neighbors, clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men.And I saw that she was defiled; they both took one way.And she increased her whoredoms; for she saw men portrayed upon the wall, the images of the Chaldeans portrayed with vermilion,girded with girdles upon their loins, with flowing turbans upon their heads, all of them princes to look upon, after the likeness of the Babylonians in Chaldea, the land of their nativity.And as soon as she saw them she doted upon them, and sent messengers unto them into Chaldea.

but I say unto you, that every one that looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; enticing unstedfast souls; having a heart exercised in covetousness; children of cursing;

Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity, And quicken me in thy ways.

Therefore came I forth to meet thee, Diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, With striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.I have perfumed my bed With myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning; Let us solace ourselves with loves.

Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; yet thou hadst a harlot’s forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed.

Lest thou give thine honor unto others, And thy years unto the cruel;

that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all that they chose.

So she caught him, and kissed him, And with an impudent face she said unto him:

To deliver thee from the strange woman, Even from the foreigner that flattereth with her words;

Thou hast built thy lofty place at the head of every way, and hast made thy beauty an abomination, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredom.
