So the warden put Joseph in charge of all those held in the prison, and he was made responsible for all that was done there.

Therefore the Lord, the God of Israel, declares:‘ I promised that your house and the house of your father should go in and out before me forever,’ but now the Lord declares:‘ Far be it from me, for those who honor me I will honor, and those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

But the meek shall inherit the land and delight themselves in abundant peace.

So he left all that he had in Joseph’s charge, and because of him he had no concern about anything but the food he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.And after a time his master’s wife cast her eyes on Joseph and said,“ Lie with me.”

Trust in the Lord, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness.

He is not greater in this house than I am, nor has he kept back anything from me except you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?”
