Then they set out, and the terror of God fell on the towns all around them so that no one pursued them.

我必驅列邦於爾前、恢廓爾境、每歲三往覲爾上帝耶和華時、無人覬覦爾地、

必無人能禦爾、於爾所履之地、爾上帝耶和華、必使其民悚懼恐惶、以踐其言、○

以東侯伯悚惶、摩押英豪震慴、迦南居民銷鑠、驚駭恐懼、臨及其身、耶和華歟、因爾巨臂、彼皆寂然如石、俟爾之民過焉、俟爾所贖之民過焉、

於是在營在田、庶民戍卒掠者、無不戰慄、地亦震動、致其戰慄特甚、

取牛一雙臠之、遣使徧送於以色列四境、曰、不出而從掃羅撒母耳者、待其牛亦若是、耶和華使民恐懼、乃咸出、如一人焉、

又擊基拉耳四周之邑、以耶和華使之恐懼故也、諸邑多有貨財、猶大人刧掠之、

雅各謂西緬利未曰、爾曹累我、令我遺臭於居此之迦南比利洗人、且我人寡、彼必聚而攻我、殲我及家、
