讓我們活活地囫圇吞掉他們，就像陰間吞掉那些下陰坑的人；我們將找到各樣寶貴的財物，用掠物裝滿我們的房屋；

耶穌回答說：「我確確實實地告訴你們：你們找我，並不是因為看見了神蹟，而是因為你們吃餅吃飽了。不要為那會腐敗的食物做工，而要為那存留到永生的食物做工。這食物就是人子要給你們的，因為人子是父神所印證的。」

原來，有一個名叫迪米特斯的銀匠，是製造阿蒂米絲女神銀龕的，給工匠們帶來不少的生意。迪米特斯召集了他們，以及周圍同行的工人，說：「各位，你們知道，我們是由這生意發財的。可是你們看見了也聽見了，這個保羅不僅在以弗所也幾乎在全亞細亞省，說服、引誘了一大群人，說『人手所造的不是神』。

不要辛勞求富，要有悟性，適可而止。你的目光飛向財富，它卻不見了；因為財富必定長出翅膀，如鷹飛向天空。

其實敬神加上知足，才是極大的得利之道。實際上，我們沒有帶什麼到世上來，也不能帶什麼去。不過有了吃的、穿的，我們將以此為滿足。至於那些想發財的人就會陷入試探、網羅以及很多無知有害的欲望裡；這些欲望使人沉溺在敗壞和滅亡中。要知道，貪愛金錢是萬惡之根；有些人戀慕金錢，就被迷惑而離開了信仰，用很多苦痛把自己刺透了。

忠實的人，大蒙祝福；急於發財的，難逃罪責。

又對賣鴿子的人說：「把這些東西從這裡拿走！不要把我父的殿當成做買賣的地方！」
