让我们活活地囫囵吞掉他们，就像阴间吞掉那些下阴坑的人；我们将找到各样宝贵的财物，用掠物装满我们的房屋；

耶稣回答说：“我确确实实地告诉你们：你们找我，并不是因为看见了神迹，而是因为你们吃饼吃饱了。不要为那会腐败的食物做工，而要为那存留到永生的食物做工。这食物就是人子要给你们的，因为人子是父神所印证的。”

原来，有一个名叫迪米特斯的银匠，是制造阿蒂米丝女神银龛的，给工匠们带来不少的生意。迪米特斯召集了他们，以及周围同行的工人，说：“各位，你们知道，我们是由这生意发财的。可是你们看见了也听见了，这个保罗不仅在以弗所也几乎在全亚细亚省，说服、引诱了一大群人，说‘人手所造的不是神’。

不要辛劳求富，要有悟性，适可而止。你的目光飞向财富，它却不见了；因为财富必定长出翅膀，如鹰飞向天空。

其实敬神加上知足，才是极大的得利之道。实际上，我们没有带什么到世上来，也不能带什么去。不过有了吃的、穿的，我们将以此为满足。至于那些想发财的人就会陷入试探、网罗以及很多无知有害的欲望里；这些欲望使人沉溺在败坏和灭亡中。要知道，贪爱金钱是万恶之根；有些人恋慕金钱，就被迷惑而离开了信仰，用很多苦痛把自己刺透了。

忠实的人，大蒙祝福；急于发财的，难逃罪责。

又对卖鸽子的人说：“把这些东西从这里拿走！不要把我父的殿当成做买卖的地方！”
