Won’t their livestock, their property and all their other animals become ours? So let us agree to their terms, and they will settle among us.”

我们要像阴间一样生吞他们，整个吞没他们，使他们如坠入坟墓的人；我们必得到各样宝物，把战利品装满我们的房屋。

耶稣回答说：“我实实在在地告诉你们，你们找我，并不是因为看见了神迹，而是因为你们有饼吃，并且吃饱了。不要为那必坏的食物劳苦，要为那存到永生的食物，就是人子要赐给你们的食物劳苦，因为父上帝把这权柄交给了人子。”

一个名叫底米丢的银匠以制造亚底米女神银龛为业，使从事这门生意的工匠获利丰厚。他召集了工匠和同行的人，说：“各位都知道我们靠这一行发财，可是你们都看到了，也听见了，那个保罗在以弗所和亚细亚全境说服、误导了许多人，说什么人手所造的不是神。

别为钱财耗尽心力，要明智，适可而止。钱财眨眼之间消逝无踪，它必长出翅膀如鹰飞去。

其实敬虔和知足才是真正的财富，因为我们空手来到世上，也要空手离开。只要有吃有穿，就该知足。那些渴望发财的人却陷入诱惑、网罗和许多愚蠢有害的欲望中，以致落入败坏和灭亡中。贪财是万恶之根，有人因为贪财就离弃了信仰，结果饱尝种种锥心般的痛苦。

忠信的人必大蒙祝福，急于发财的难免受罚。

又对卖鸽子的说：“把这些东西拿出去！不要把我父的殿当作市场。”
