“ No, please take them,” Jacob said.“ If I have found favor in your sight, accept my gift from my hand. Now that I have seen your face and you have accepted me, it is as if I have seen the face of God.

Jacob said,“ Please, no, if I have now found favor in your sight, then receive my present at my hand, because I have seen your face, as one sees the face of God, and you were pleased with me.

They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.

He will pray to God, and God will delight in him. That person will see his face with a shout of joy, and God will restore his righteousness to him.

Jacob then named the place Peniel,“ For I have seen God face to face,” he said,“ yet my life has been spared.”

When the time approached for him to die, he called his son Joseph and said to him,“ If I have found favor with you, put your hand under my thigh and promise me that you will deal with me in kindness and faithfulness. Do not bury me in Egypt.
