When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man.

The man saw that he couldn’t win. So he touched the inside of Jacob’s hip. As Jacob wrestled with the man, Jacob’s hip was twisted.

When the man saw that he did not prevail against Jacob, he touched his hip socket, and Jacob’s hip was put out of joint as he wrestled with him.

When the man saw that he would not win the match, he touched Jacob’s hip and wrenched it out of its socket.

When the man saw that he could not defeat him, he struck Jacob’s hip socket as they wrestled and dislocated his hip.

When the man saw that he had not prevailed against him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was dislocated while he wrestled with him.

Now when He saw that He did not prevail against him, He touched the socket of his hip; and the socket of Jacob’s hip was out of joint as He wrestled with him.

And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was strained, as he wrestled with him.

When the man saw that He could not defeat him, He struck Jacob’s hip socket as they wrestled and dislocated his hip.

为了使我不至于因所受的启示太大而自高，有一根“刺”在我身上，就是有撒旦的爪牙攻击我，免得我骄傲自大。我曾三次祈求主叫这根刺离开我，但祂说：“我的恩典足够你用，因为我的能力在人的软弱上更显得全备。”所以，我更喜欢夸耀自己的软弱，好让基督的能力荫庇我。

雅各在母胎之中曾抓住哥哥的脚跟，壮年之时曾跟上帝角力。他跟天使角力得胜，向天使哭求福分。他在伯特利遇见祂，在那里与祂说话——

以色列人至今都不吃大腿窝的筋，因为那人摸过雅各大腿窝的筋。

我在顺境中曾说：“我永不动摇。”耶和华啊，你向我施恩，我便稳固如山；你掩面不理我，我就惊慌失措。

“如蛆如虫的雅各啊，以色列人啊，不要怕！我耶和华必帮助你。以色列的圣者是你的救赎主。

你们要警醒祷告，免得陷入诱惑。你们的心灵虽然愿意，肉体却很软弱。”

摩西对耶和华说：“你曾经用大能把以色列人从埃及领出来，埃及人听说这事后，一定会告诉迦南的居民。那里的居民早已听说你耶和华与以色列人同在，你面对面向他们显现，你的云彩停留在他们上面，你白天用云柱、黑夜用火柱引导他们。

那地方有个迦南的妇人前来大声恳求耶稣：“主啊！大卫的后裔啊！可怜我吧！我的女儿被鬼附身，受尽折磨！”耶稣却一言不发。门徒上前求祂说：“请让她走吧！她老是在后面喊叫。”耶稣说：“我奉差遣只是来寻找以色列家迷失的羊。”那妇人上前跪下，说：“主啊！求你帮帮我吧！”耶稣答道：“把儿女的食物丢给狗吃，不合适。”妇人说：“主啊，不错，可是狗也吃主人饭桌上掉下来的碎渣呀！”耶稣说：“妇人，你的信心真大！我答应你的要求。”就在那一刻，她女儿就好了。

你赶快逃吧，因为你还没有到那里之前，我不能动手。”从此那城便叫琐珥。

耶和华——以色列的圣者和创造主说：“你们就我子民将来的事质问我吗？你们发号施令要告诉我如何做吗？

耶稣再次离开他们，第三次去祷告，说的是同样的话。

耶稣又对他们说：“假设你在半夜跑去朋友家请求说，‘朋友，请借给我三个饼吧，因为有一位朋友远道而来，我家没有什么可以招待他。’那个人在屋里应声说，‘请别打搅我，门已经锁上了，我和孩子们也已经上床了，我不能起来给你拿饼。’“我告诉你们，那人虽不念朋友之情，但是倘若你不肯罢休，继续请求，他最终会起来满足你的愿望。
