同樣，上帝為要向承受應許的人顯明祂的旨意絕不更改，就用誓言向他們保證。

上帝說：「我是上帝，是你父親的上帝，不要害怕下到埃及，因為我要使你在那裡成為大族。我必跟你一起下到埃及，也必帶領你回來，約瑟必為你送終。」

上帝並非世人，祂不撒謊；上帝不是凡人，祂不反悔。祂言出必行，信守承諾。
