It was also called Mizpah, because he said,“ May the Lord keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other.

It was also called Mizpah. That’s because Laban said,“ May the Lord keep watch between you and me when we are away from each other.

and Mizpah, for he said,“ The Lord watch between you and me, when we are out of one another’s sight.

But it was also called Mizpah( which means“ watchtower”), for Laban said,“ May the Lord keep watch between us to make sure that we keep this covenant when we are out of each other’s sight.

於是永恆主的靈感動耶弗他；耶弗他就經過基列和瑪拿西，經過基列的米斯巴，又從基列的米斯巴過去到亞捫人那裏。

當時亞捫人應召而集，在基列紮營；以色列人也聚集，紮營在米斯巴。

於是耶弗他和基列的長老一同去，人民就立耶弗他做首領、做將軍、來管理他們；耶弗他將自己的一切話在米斯巴永恆主面前都說明出來。

眾祭司啊，要聽這話哦！以色列家啊，要留心聽哦！王家啊，要側耳以聽！因為審判是關於你們的，因為你們成了在米斯巴的機檻，成了在他泊山鋪下的網。

撒母耳說：『要把以色列眾人集合在米斯巴，我好為你們禱告永恆主。』他們就集合在米斯巴，打水倒在永恆主面前；那一天禁食，在那裏說：『我們犯罪得罪了永恆主了。』撒母耳在米斯巴作士師拯救了以色列人。

於是亞撒王向猶大眾人公布，不准任何人免役，吩咐他們將巴沙修造拉瑪所用的石頭和木料都運走；亞撒王就用那些材料來修造便雅憫的迦巴以及米斯巴。
