By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

You will have to work hard and sweat a lot to produce the food you eat. You were made out of the ground. You will return to it when you die. You are dust, and you will return to dust.”

我專心致志、以智慧考察窮究日下所作之事、乃知此為苦任、天主所畀於人、欲人因以自勞、

迷失達道者、必居於陰靈之會、

既由一人有死、亦由一人有由死復活、因亞當、人皆死、如是因基督、皆必復活、

兄弟乎、我儕傳天主福音於爾之時、當念我儕勞苦、晝夜工作、不累爾一人、

此二者、同偃臥於土中、為蛆蟲所蔽、

亞伯拉罕曰、我雖若灰塵、敢告主、

世間豐富之人、必得食而拜主、將近塵土莫保己命之人、亦必跪在主前、

是以自從罪由一人入世、死因罪而有、則死臨於眾人、以眾人犯罪、未立律法之先、罪已在世、第無律法、罪猶不為罪、然自亞當至摩西、人皆為死所轄、其所犯之罪、雖不同於亞當之罪、亦為死所轄、亞當為後至者之對相、但罪愆不如恩賜、若一人之愆、致眾皆死、況天主之寵與賜、因耶穌基督一人之恩、不益廣施於眾乎、又一人犯罪之所致、不如恩賜、蓋由一人之愆、有審判以定罪、由恩賜、乃免多愆以稱義、若由一人之愆、死則操權、得洪恩併受稱義之賜者、不更因耶穌基督一人、獲永生而操權乎、由是觀之、因一罪、一罪或作一人之罪人皆被罪、亦因一義、一義或作一人之義人皆稱義得永生、因一人之逆、眾則視為罪人、因一人之順、眾則視為義人、律法立、致罪增益、然罪增益之處、恩寵更裕、罪操權以致死亡、恩寵因義操權以致永生、皆賴我主耶穌基督而然也、
