By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return.”

You will have to work hard and sweat a lot to produce the food you eat. You were made out of the ground. You will return to it when you die. You are dust, and you will return to dust.”

塵土要歸回原來之地，靈要歸回賜靈的神。

你向牠們掩面，牠們就驚慌；你收回牠們的氣息，牠們就死亡，歸回塵土。

有血肉生命的就都一同氣絕身亡，世人都歸回塵土。

你使人歸回塵土，說：“世人哪！你們要歸回塵土。”

耶和華神用地上的塵土造成人形，把生命之氣吹進他的鼻孔裡，那人就成了有生命的活人，名叫亞當。

大家都到一個地方去，都出於塵土，也都歸回塵土。

我們在你們那裡的時候，曾經吩咐過你們，如果有人不肯作工，就不可吃飯。

偷竊的，不要再偷，卻要作工，親手作正當的事，使自己可以把所得到的，分給缺乏的人。

他怎樣從母胎赤身而來，也必怎樣赤身而去；在勞碌中得來的，他的手也帶不走甚麼。

人的一切勞碌，就是他在日光之下的勞碌，對自己有甚麼益處呢？

“我是在你們中間寄居的外族人，求你們在你們中間給我一塊墳地作產業，使我可以埋葬我死了的人，使她不露在我面前。”

我曾用智慧專心尋求查究天下所發生的一切事；原來神給予世人的，是勞苦的擔子，叫他們為此煩惱。

因為他知道我們的本體，記得我們不過是塵土。

偏離明慧之道的人，必住在陰魂的會中。

死既藉著一人而來，死人復活也藉著一人而來。在亞當裡眾人都死了，照樣，在基督裡眾人也都要復活；

弟兄們，你們應該記得我們的辛苦和勞碌；我們把神的福音傳給你們的時候，怎樣晝夜作工，免得你們有人受累。

他們都一起躺在塵土中，蟲子爬滿他們身上。

亞伯拉罕回答，說：“我雖然是灰塵，還大膽地對我主說話。

地上所有富足的人，都必吃喝、敬拜；所有下到塵土中，不再存活的人，都在他面前屈身下拜。

我若等待陰間作我的家，在黑暗中鋪張我的床榻；我若對深坑說：‘你是我的父親’，對蟲說：‘你是我的母親，我的姊妹’，那麼，我的指望在哪裡呢？我的指望誰能看得見呢？等到安息在塵土中的時候，那些指望必下到陰間的門閂那裡。”

說：“我赤身出於母胎，也必赤身歸去。賞賜的是耶和華，收回的也是耶和華；耶和華的名是應當稱頌的。”

我的精力像瓦片一樣枯乾，我的舌頭緊黏著上顎，你把我放在死亡的塵土中。

必有許多睡在塵土中的人醒過來，有的要得永生，有的要受羞辱，永遠被憎惡。

我的皮肉遭受毀壞以後，這事就要發生，我必在肉體以外得見神。

正好像罪藉著一個人入了世界，死又是從罪來的，所以死就臨到所有人，因為所有人都犯了罪。沒有律法以前，罪已經在世界上了；不過，沒有律法的時候，罪也不算罪。可是，從亞當到摩西，死就掌權了，甚至那些不像亞當那樣犯罪的人，也在死的權下；亞當正是要來的那一位的預表。但恩賞和過犯是截然不同的；如果因著那一人的過犯，眾人都死了，神的恩典和這一人耶穌基督在恩典裡的賞賜，對眾人就更加豐盛了。這賞賜和那一人犯罪的後果也是不同的；因為審判是由一人而來，以致定罪，恩賞卻由許多過犯而來，以致稱義。如果因著那一人的過犯，死就因那一人而掌權，那些蒙豐富的恩典並且得公義為賞賜的，就更要因這一位耶穌基督在生命中掌權了。這樣看來，因一次的過犯，所有人都被定罪；照樣，因一次的義行，所有人都被稱義得生命了。因著那一人的悖逆，眾人就被列為罪人；照樣，因著這一人的順服，眾人也被列為義人了。律法的出現，是要叫過犯增多；然而罪在哪裡增多，恩典就更加增多了。罪藉著死掌權；照樣，恩典也藉著義掌權，使人藉著我們的主耶穌基督進入永生。
