Keep me, O Jehovah, from the hands of the wicked; Preserve me from the violent man: Who have purposed to thrust aside my steps.The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; They have spread a net by the wayside; They have set gins for me.[ Selah

Let us swallow them up alive as Sheol, And whole, as those that go down into the pit;We shall find all precious substance; We shall fill our houses with spoil;

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:neither give place to the devil.

The wicked plotteth against the just, And gnasheth upon him with his teeth.The Lord will laugh at him; For he seeth that his day is coming.

Thus saith Jehovah: For three transgressions of Edom, yea, for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof; because he did pursue his brother with the sword, and did cast off all pity, and his anger did tear perpetually, and he kept his wrath for ever.But I will send a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

Better is a little that the righteous hath Than the abundance of many wicked.

I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother: I bowed down mourning, as one that bewaileth his mother.

So his servants took him out of the chariot, and put him in the second chariot that he had, and brought him to Jerusalem; and he died, and was buried in the sepulchres of his fathers. And all Judah and Jerusalem mourned for Josiah.

Because thou hast had a perpetual enmity, and hast given over the children of Israel to the power of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time of the iniquity of the end;

For we also once were foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another.

When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, Thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walk Have they hidden a snare for me.

And Absalom commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine; and when I say unto you, Smite Amnon, then kill him; fear not; have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant.And the servants of Absalom did unto Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he come and smite me, the mother with the children.
