For again the Edomites had come and smitten Judah, and carried away captives.

For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the host was gone up to bury the slain, and had smitten every male in Edom( for Joab and all Israel remained there six months, until he had cut off every male in Edom);that Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go into Egypt, Hadad being yet a little child.

He slew of Edom in the Valley of Salt ten thousand, and took Sela by war, and called the name of it Joktheel, unto this day.

Think not that I came to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
