But Isaac replied,“ Your brother came in here deceitfully and took away your blessing.”

以撒說：『你兄弟進來，用詭詐把你應得的祝福取了去了。』

以撒說：「你弟弟心懷詭計地前來，已經奪取了你的祝福。」

曰、爾弟來、施其詭譎、奪爾福祉、

曰、爾弟來、以詭計奪爾之福、

But he said,“ Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

But Isaac said,“ Your brother came and tricked me. He took your blessing.”

But he said,“ Your brother came deceitfully, and he has taken away your blessing.”

But Isaac said,“ Your brother was here, and he tricked me. He has taken away your blessing.”

But he replied,“ Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

And he said,“ Your brother came deceitfully and has taken away your blessing.”

But he said,“ Your brother came with deceit and has taken away your blessing.”

And he said, Thy brother came with guile, and hath taken away thy blessing.

But he replied,“ Your brother came deceitfully and took your blessing.”

And he said, Thy brother came with subtilty, and hath taken away thy blessing.

He said,“ Your brother came with deceit, and has taken away your blessing.”

In this matter no one should violate the rights of his brother or take advantage of him, because the Lord is the avenger in all these cases, as we also told you earlier and warned you solemnly.

Do we not all have one father? Did not one God create us? Why do we betray one another, in this way making light of the covenant of our ancestors?

For if by my lie the truth of God enhances his glory, why am I still actually being judged as a sinner?And why not say,“ Let us do evil so that good may come of it”?– as some who slander us allege that we say.( Their condemnation is deserved!)

Jacob said to his father,“ I am Esau, your firstborn. I’ve done as you told me. Now sit up and eat some of my wild game so that you can bless me.”But Isaac asked his son,“ How in the world did you find it so quickly, my son?”“ Because the LORD your God brought it to me,” he replied.Then Isaac said to Jacob,“ Come closer so I can touch you, my son, and know for certain if you really are my son Esau.”So Jacob went over to his father Isaac, who felt him and said,“ The voice is Jacob’s, but the hands are Esau’s.”He did not recognize him because his hands were hairy, like his brother Esau’s hands. So Isaac blessed Jacob.

So now, bring to me all the prophets of Baal, as well as all his servants and priests. None of them must be absent, for I am offering a great sacrifice to Baal. Any of them who fail to appear will lose their lives.” But Jehu was tricking them so he could destroy the servants of Baal.

Will you speak wickedly on God’s behalf? Will you speak deceitfully for him?

But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that the extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.
