Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said,“ The thing has come from the Lord; we cannot speak to you bad or good.

Then Laban and Bethuel replied,“ The Lord has obviously brought you here, so there is nothing we can say.

我的手本有能力害你，只是你父親的上帝昨夜對我說：『你要小心，不可對雅各說好說歹。』

押沙龍卻不和暗嫩說好說歹；因為暗嫩玷辱他妹妹她瑪，所以押沙龍恨惡他。

他們就為利百加祝福，對她說：「我們的妹妹啊，願你作千萬人的母親！願你的後裔得着仇敵的城門！」

僕人拿出金器、銀器和衣服送給利百加，又將貴重的物品送給她哥哥和她母親。

既然上帝給他們恩賜，像在我們信主耶穌基督的時候給了我們一樣，我是誰，能攔阻上帝嗎？」

利百加的哥哥和母親說：「讓她同我們再住幾天，也許十天，然後她可以去。」

耶穌對他們說：「『匠人所丟棄的石頭已作了房角的頭塊石頭。這是主所做的，在我們眼中看為奇妙。』這段經文你們從來沒有念過嗎？

話還沒說完，看哪，利百加肩頭上扛着水瓶出來。利百加是彼土利所生的；彼土利是亞伯拉罕的兄弟拿鶴妻子密迦的兒子。

那少女跑去，把這些話告訴她母親家裏的人。
