約瑟命家宰曰、以糧充諸人之囊、依其所能負、亦以各人之銀、反各人之囊中、

約瑟不從、謂主母曰、一切家務在我、主人無所知、而以凡所有者歸我掌握、此家之人莫大於我、爾既為主人之妻、除爾之外皆付於我、我豈敢作此大惡、獲罪於天主乎、
