我对哪一个少女说：‘请你放下水瓶来，让我喝点水。’如果她回答：‘请喝，我也给你的骆驼喝。’愿那少女就作你选定给你仆人以撒的妻子。这样，我就知道你施慈爱给我的主人了。”

我对哪个少女说：‘请放下你的罐子，让我喝点水’；如果那个少女说：‘请喝吧，我也给你的骆驼喝’——愿她就是你为你的仆人以撒指定的那位。这样我就知道你确实向我主人施慈爱了。”

倘其中有一女、我告之、授汲器以飲我、彼云、請飲、亦飲爾駝、則其女為爾所定、與爾僕以撒為室、由此可知、爾施恩於我主。

我將求一女曰、請欹瓶予我飲、彼若云請飲、我亦飲爾駝、則其女為主所定、與主之僕以撒為妻、由此我可知主施恩於我主人、

May it be that when I say to a young woman,‘ Please let down your jar that I may have a drink,’ and she says,‘ Drink, and I’ll water your camels too’— let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

I will speak to a young woman. I’ll say to her,‘ Please lower your jar so I can have a drink.’ Suppose she says,‘ Have a drink of water, and I’ll get some for your camels too.’ Then let her be the one you have chosen for your servant Isaac. That’s how I’ll know you have been kind to my master.”

This is my request. I will ask one of them,‘ Please give me a drink from your jug.’ If she says,‘ Yes, have a drink, and I will water your camels, too!’— let her be the one you have selected as Isaac’s wife. This is how I will know that you have shown unfailing love to my master.”

Let the girl to whom I say,‘ Please lower your water jug so that I may drink,’ and who responds,‘ Drink, and I’ll water your camels also’— let her be the one you have appointed for your servant Isaac. By this I will know that you have shown kindness to my master.”

Now let it be that the young woman to whom I say,‘ Please let down your pitcher that I may drink,’ and she says,‘ Drink, and I will also give your camels a drink’— let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. And by this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”

and let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master.

behold, I am laying a fleece of wool on the threshing floor. If there is dew on the fleece alone, and it is dry on all the ground, then I shall know that you will save Israel by my hand, as you have said.”

And he said to him,“ If now I have found favor in your eyes, then show me a sign that it is you who speak with me.

But he said,“ O Lord God, how am I to know that I shall possess it?”

“ Ask a sign of the Lord your God; let it be deep as Sheol or high as heaven.”

and who will say to me,“ Drink, and I will draw for your camels also,” let her be the woman whom the Lord has appointed for my master’s son.’

And Hezekiah said to Isaiah,“ What shall be the sign that the Lord will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the Lord on the third day?”And Isaiah said,“ This shall be the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do the thing that he has promised: shall the shadow go forward ten steps, or go back ten steps?”And Hezekiah answered,“ It is an easy thing for the shadow to lengthen ten steps. Rather let the shadow go back ten steps.”And Isaiah the prophet called to the Lord, and he brought the shadow back ten steps, by which it had gone down on the steps of Ahaz.

Then Jonathan said,“ Behold, we will cross over to the men, and we will show ourselves to them.If they say to us,‘ Wait until we come to you,’ then we will stand still in our place, and we will not go up to them.But if they say,‘ Come up to us,’ then we will go up, for the Lord has given them into our hand. If he says,‘ Good!’ it will be well with your servant, but if he is angry, then know that harm is determined by him.

Seven days you shall wait, until I come to you and show you what you shall do.”When he turned his back to leave Samuel, God gave him another heart. And all these signs came to pass that day.When they came to Gibeah, behold, a group of prophets met him, and the Spirit of God rushed upon him, and he prophesied among them.

When Gideon came, behold, a man was telling a dream to his comrade. And he said,“ Behold, I dreamed a dream, and behold, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the camp of Midian and came to the tent and struck it so that it fell and turned it upside down, so that the tent lay flat.”And his comrade answered,“ This is no other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given into his hand Midian and all the camp.”As soon as Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, he worshiped. And he returned to the camp of Israel and said,“ Arise, for the Lord has given the host of Midian into your hand.”

And Joab said to Amasa,“ Is it well with you, my brother?” And Joab took Amasa by the beard with his right hand to kiss him.

And they said to him,“ Inquire of God, please, that we may know whether the journey on which we are setting out will succeed.”

Now then, take and prepare a new cart and two milk cows on which there has never come a yoke, and yoke the cows to the cart, but take their calves home, away from them.And take the ark of the Lord and place it on the cart and put in a box at its side the figures of gold, which you are returning to him as a guilt offering. Then send it off and let it go its wayand watch. If it goes up on the way to its own land, to Beth-shemesh, then it is he who has done us this great harm, but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that struck us; it happened to us by coincidence.”
