雅各對他說：「我主知道：孩子們年幼嬌嫩；還有正哺乳的牛羊需要我照管，只要催逼一天，整群牲畜就都死了。請我主在僕人前面先過去；我要按著面前牲畜的速度和孩子們的速度，慢慢領他們走，一直走到西珥我主那裡。」
