Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that[ is] therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead.

“ No, sir,” Ephron said.“ Listen to me. I will give you the field. I’ll also give you the cave that’s in the field. I will give it to you in front of my people. Bury your wife.”

“ No, my lord, hear me: I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. In the sight of the sons of my people I give it to you. Bury your dead.”

“ No, my lord,” he said to Abraham,“ please listen to me. I will give you the field and the cave. Here in the presence of my people, I give it to you. Go and bury your dead.”

“ No, my lord. Listen to me. I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. I give it to you in the sight of my people. Bury your dead.”

“ No, my lord, listen to me; I give you the field, and I give you the cave that is in it. In the presence of the sons of my people I give it to you; bury your dead.”

“ No, my Lord, hear me: I give you the field and the cave that is in it; I give it to you in the presence of the sons of my people. I give it to you. Bury your dead!”

Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the children of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead.

“ No, my lord! Hear me out. I sell you both the field and the cave that is in it. In the presence of my people I sell it to you. Bury your dead.”

And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming on toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king on his face upon the ground.And Araunah said, Wherefore is my lord the king come to his servant? And David said, To buy the threshingfloor of thee, to build an altar unto the LORD, that the plague may be stayed from the people.And Araunah said unto David, Let my lord the king take and offer up what[ seemeth] good unto him: behold,[ here be] oxen for burnt sacrifice, and threshing instruments and[ other] instruments of the oxen for wood.All these[ things] did Araunah,[ as] a king, give unto the king. And Araunah said unto the king, The LORD thy God accept thee.And the king said unto Araunah, Nay; but I will surely buy[ it] of thee at a price: neither will I offer burnt offerings unto the LORD my God of that which doth cost me nothing. So David bought the threshingfloor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

Behold, Hanameel the son of Shallum thine uncle shall come unto thee, saying, Buy thee my field that[ is] in Anathoth: for the right of redemption[ is] thine to buy[ it].So Hanameel mine uncle’s son came to me in the court of the prison according to the word of the LORD, and said unto me, Buy my field, I pray thee, that[ is] in Anathoth, which[ is] in the country of Benjamin: for the right of inheritance[ is] thine, and the redemption[ is] thine; buy[ it] for thyself. Then I knew that this[ was] the word of the LORD.And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s son, that[ was] in Anathoth, and weighed him the money,[ even] seventeen shekels of silver.And I subscribed the evidence, and sealed[ it], and took witnesses, and weighed[ him] the money in the balances.So I took the evidence of the purchase,[ both] that which was sealed[ according] to the law and custom, and that which was open:And I gave the evidence of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maaseiah, in the sight of Hanameel mine uncle’s[ son], and in the presence of the witnesses that subscribed the book of the purchase, before all the Jews that sat in the court of the prison.

Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.

One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin, in any sin that he sinneth: at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.

And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy[ it] before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem[ it], redeem[ it]: but if thou wilt not redeem[ it, then] tell me, that I may know: for[ there is] none to redeem[ it] beside thee; and I[ am] after thee. And he said, I will redeem[ it].

And all the people that[ were] in the gate, and the elders, said,[ We are] witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:

Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of[ this] threshingfloor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: thou shalt grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.And Ornan said unto David, Take[ it] to thee, and let my lord the king do[ that which is] good in his eyes: lo, I give[ thee] the oxen[ also] for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meat offering; I give it all.And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take[ that] which[ is] thine for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost.

And Boaz said unto the elders, and[ unto] all the people, Ye[ are] witnesses this day, that I have bought all that[ was] Elimelech’s, and all that[ was] Chilion’s and Mahlon’s, of the hand of Naomi.

Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person[ to cause him] to die.

And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give[ it] to him that hath ten pounds.

But the liberal deviseth liberal things; and by liberal things shall he stand.

Hear us, my lord: thou[ art] a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.

At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death;[ but] at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death.
