亞勞拿往下觀看的時候，看見王和他的臣僕們正向他走過來，亞勞拿就出去，臉伏於地向王下拜。亞勞拿問：「我主我王為什麼來到你僕人這裡呢？」大衛說：「是要向你買這打穀場，好為耶和華築一座祭壇，使瘟疫在百姓中間止住。」亞勞拿對大衛說：「我主我王看為好的，就拿去獻上吧！看，牛可以作燔祭，打穀器具和套牛的軛可以作木柴。王啊，我亞勞拿把這一切都獻給王。」亞勞拿又對王說：「願耶和華你的神悅納你！」王對亞勞拿說：「不，我一定要按價向你購買，我不能獻上無償的燔祭給耶和華我的神。」大衛就用五十謝克爾銀子買下了那打穀場和牛。

波阿斯來到城門口，在那裡坐下。看哪！波阿斯所說的那個有贖回權的近親正經過那裡；波阿斯就說：「某某人哪，請過來，坐在這裡吧！」那個人就過來坐下。

我想我應該讓你知道這事，並建議你當著在座各位的面，當著我民中長老們的面，取得那塊田。如果你要贖取就贖取吧！但如果你不贖取，請告訴我，我好知道；因為除你以外沒有人可以先贖取，而我是在你之後的。」那人說：「我要贖取！」

在城門口的全體民眾和長老們都說：「我們都是見證人！願耶和華使進到你家的這女子像建立以色列家的拉結和莉亞兩人那樣！願你在以法他做大能的事，在伯利恆得名聲！

接著波阿斯對長老們和全體民眾說：「今天你們都是見證人：所有屬於以利米勒的、所有屬於基連和瑪倫的，我都從娜娥米的手中取得了；

於是他對站在旁邊的人說：『把那一百銀幣從他那裡拿走，給那個有一千的。』

高貴人卻籌謀高貴的事，並堅立在高貴的事上。

「我主啊，請聽我們說！你在我們中間是尊貴的王子，請在我們最好的墳地安葬你的死者吧！我們中沒有一個人會阻止你在他的墳地安葬你的死者。」

在所有來到城門口的赫提子孫眼前，轉給亞伯拉罕作他的財產。
