that I will bless you greatly, and I will multiply your offspring greatly like the stars of the heavens, and like the sand which is on the seashore. Your offspring will possess the gate of his enemies.

必錫爾嘏、昌熾爾裔、如天上之星、如海濱之沙、爾裔必據諸敵之邑、

我必大賚爾福祉、昌熾爾子孫、如天星之眾多、如海沙之無量、爾子孫將勝諸敵、

必賜福於爾、使爾後裔眾多、如天上之星、如海濱之沙、爾後裔必得敵之城邑為業、

I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies,

So I will certainly bless you. I will make the children born into your family as many as the stars in the sky. I will make them as many as the grains of sand on the seashore. They will take over the cities of their enemies.

I will surely bless you, and I will surely multiply your offspring as the stars of heaven and as the sand that is on the seashore. And your offspring shall possess the gate of his enemies,

I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies.

Yahweh brought him outside, and said,“ Look now toward the sky, and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” He said to Abram,“ So your offspring will be.”

I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if a man can count the dust of the earth, then your offspring may also be counted.

They blessed Rebekah, and said to her,“ Our sister, may you be the mother of thousands of ten thousands, and let your offspring possess the gate of those who hate them.”

I will multiply your offspring as the stars of the sky, and will give all these lands to your offspring. In your offspring all the nations of the earth will be blessed,

As the army of the sky can’t be counted, and the sand of the sea can’t be measured; so I will multiply the offspring of David my servant and the Levites who minister to me.’”

Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

Yahweh your God has multiplied you, and behold, you are today as the stars of the sky for multitude.

Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying,“ Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel.I have given you every place that the sole of your foot will tread on, as I told Moses.From the wilderness and this Lebanon even to the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and to the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your border.No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.“ Be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.Only be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you. Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it; for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.Haven’t I commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be dismayed, for Yahweh your God is with you wherever you go.”Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,

He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth.Those who dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him. His enemies shall lick the dust.

I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will rise out of Israel, and shall strike through the corners of Moab, and crush all the sons of Sheth.Edom shall be a possession. Seir, his enemies, also shall be a possession, while Israel does valiantly.Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city.”

You said,‘ I will surely do you good, and make your offspring as the sand of the sea, which can’t be counted because there are so many.’”

The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying,“ The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!”

All these blessings will come upon you, and overtake you, if you listen to Yahweh your God’s voice.You shall be blessed in the city, and you shall be blessed in the field.You shall be blessed in the fruit of your body, the fruit of your ground, the fruit of your animals, the increase of your livestock, and the young of your flock.Your basket and your kneading trough shall be blessed.You shall be blessed when you come in, and you shall be blessed when you go out.Yahweh will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways.Yahweh will command the blessing on you in your barns, and in all that you put your hand to. He will bless you in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.Yahweh will establish you for a holy people to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you shall keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, and walk in his ways.All the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by Yahweh’s name, and they will be afraid of you.Yahweh will grant you abundant prosperity in the fruit of your body, in the fruit of your livestock, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which Yahweh swore to your fathers to give you.Yahweh will open to you his good treasure in the sky, to give the rain of your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You will lend to many nations, and you will not borrow.Yahweh will make you the head, and not the tail. You will be above only, and you will not be beneath, if you listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God which I command you today, to observe and to do,

“ Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, for he has visited and redeemed his people;and has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David( as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets who have been from of old),salvation from our enemies, and from the hand of all who hate us;to show mercy toward our fathers, to remember his holy covenant,the oath which he swore to Abraham, our father,to grant to us that we, being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, should serve him without fear,in holiness and righteousness before him all the days of our life.

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

even by the God of your father, who will help you, by the Almighty, who will bless you, with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lies below, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb.The blessings of your father have prevailed above the blessings of your ancestors, above the boundaries of the ancient hills. They will be on the head of Joseph, on the crown of the head of him who is separated from his brothers.

God give you of the dew of the sky, of the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and new wine.Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers. Let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you. Blessed be everyone who blesses you.”

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

and gave them this land, which you swore to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey.

May God Almighty bless you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, that you may be a company of peoples,

I will make of you a great nation. I will bless you and make your name great. You will be a blessing.

King Solomon made a fleet of ships in Ezion Geber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red Sea, in the land of Edom.

After this, David struck the Philistines and subdued them; and David took the bridle of the mother city out of the hand of the Philistines.He struck Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. The Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.David struck also Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion at the River.David took from him one thousand seven hundred horsemen and twenty thousand footmen. David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for one hundred chariots.When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck twenty two thousand men of the Syrians.Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.From Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took a great quantity of bronze.When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer,then Toi sent Joram his son to king David, to greet him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him; for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. Joram brought with him vessels of silver, vessels of gold, and vessels of bronze.King David also dedicated these to Yahweh, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued;of Syria, of Moab, of the children of Ammon, of the Philistines, of Amalek, and of the plunder of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.David earned a reputation when he returned from striking down eighteen thousand men of the Syrians in the Valley of Salt.He put garrisons in Edom. Throughout all Edom, he put garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.David reigned over all Israel; and David executed justice and righteousness for all his people.Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army, Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder,Zadok the son of Ahitub and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar were priests, Seraiah was scribe,Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites, and David’s sons were chief ministers.

I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you. Kings will come out of you.

then his father and his mother shall take hold of him and bring him out to the elders of his city and to the gate of his place.

For her wounds are incurable; for it has come even to Judah. It reaches to the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.

Your offspring will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. In you and in your offspring, all the families of the earth will be blessed.Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”Jacob awakened out of his sleep, and he said,“ Surely Yahweh is in this place, and I didn’t know it.”He was afraid, and said,“ How awesome this place is! This is none other than God’s house, and this is the gate of heaven.”Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on its top.He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first.Jacob vowed a vow, saying,“ If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on,so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, and Yahweh will be my God,then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God’s house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give a tenth to you.”

After this, the king of the children of Ammon died, and Hanun his son reigned in his place.David said,“ I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent by his servants to comfort him concerning his father. David’s servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun their lord,“ Do you think that David honors your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Hasn’t David sent his servants to you to search the city, to spy it out, and to overthrow it?”So Hanun took David’s servants, shaved off one half of their beards, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.When they told David this, he sent to meet them, for the men were greatly ashamed. The king said,“ Wait at Jericho until your beards have grown, and then return.”When the children of Ammon saw that they had become odious to David, the children of Ammon sent and hired the Syrians of Beth Rehob, and the Syrians of Zobah, twenty thousand footmen, and the king of Maacah with one thousand men, and the men of Tob twelve thousand men.When David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the army of the mighty men.The children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entrance of the gate. The Syrians of Zobah and of Rehob, and the men of Tob and Maacah, were by themselves in the field.Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians.The rest of the people he committed into the hand of Abishai his brother; and he put them in array against the children of Ammon.He said,“ If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you shall help me; but if the children of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will come and help you.Be courageous, and let’s be strong for our people, and for the cities of our God; and may Yahweh do what seems good to him.”So Joab and the people who were with him came near to the battle against the Syrians, and they fled before him.When the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians had fled, they likewise fled before Abishai, and entered into the city. Then Joab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.When the Syrians saw that they were defeated by Israel, they gathered themselves together.Hadadezer sent, and brought out the Syrians who were beyond the River: and they came to Helam, with Shobach the captain of the army of Hadadezer at their head.David was told that; and he gathered all Israel together, passed over the Jordan, and came to Helam. The Syrians set themselves in array against David, and fought with him.The Syrians fled before Israel; and David killed seven hundred charioteers of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and struck Shobach the captain of their army, so that he died there.When all the kings who were servants to Hadadezer saw that they were defeated before Israel, they made peace with Israel, and served them. So the Syrians were afraid to help the children of Ammon any more.

“ In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, nor will its sovereignty be left to another people; but it will break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it will stand forever.Because you saw that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the bronze, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God has made known to the king what will happen hereafter. The dream is certain, and its interpretation sure.”
