He said,“ Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

天使说：“你不可在这童子身上下手。一点不可害他！现在我知道你是敬畏神的了；因为你没有将你的儿子，就是你独生的儿子，留下不给我。”

天使说：“不可在这孩子身上下手！一点也不可伤害他！现在我知道你是敬畏上帝的人了，因为你没有把你的儿子，就是你的独子，留下不给我。”

天使说：“不可在这孩子身上下手！一点也不可伤害他！现在我知道你是敬畏神的人了，因为你没有把你的儿子，就是你的独子，留下不给我。”

天使说：“不要动孩子，不可伤害他！现在我知道你敬畏上帝，因为你不惜献上你的儿子——你的独生子。”

天使说：“不可在这孩子身上下手，一点也不可害他；现在我知道你是敬畏神的了，因为你没有留下你的儿子、你的独生子不给我。”

使者说：“不可向这少年下手，什么也不可对他做！现在我知道你是敬畏神的，因为你没有把你的儿子，就是你的独生子，留下不给我。”

天使說：“不可在這孩子身上下手，一點也不可害他；現在我知道你是敬畏神的了，因為你沒有留下你的兒子、你的獨生子不給我。”

天使說：『不可伸手宰兒童；害他的事、你一點也不可作；如今我知道你是敬畏上帝的；因為你沒有留下你兒子、你獨生的兒子、而不給我。』

使者說：「不可向這少年下手，什麼也不可對他做！現在我知道你是敬畏神的，因為你沒有把你的兒子，就是你的獨生子，留下不給我。」

曰、爾於孺子、勿著手、勿加傷、蓋爾於我、不惜獨生之子、我知爾寅畏上帝矣、

曰、爾子莫擊莫傷、我知爾畏我、蓋爾嫡子、惟此一人、猶且不惜、以獻於我。

今我知爾實畏天主矣、

“ Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said.“ Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

“ Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said.“ Do not harm him. Now I know that you would do anything for God. You have not held back from me your son, your only son.”

“ Don’t lay a hand on the boy!” the angel said.“ Do not hurt him in any way, for now I know that you truly fear God. You have not withheld from me even your son, your only son.”

Then he said,“ Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from me.”

He said,“ Do not reach out your hand against the boy, and do not do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

And He said,“ Do not lay your hand on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from Me.”

And he said, Lay not thy hand upon the lad, neither do thou anything unto him; for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son, from me.

Then He said,“ Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from Me.”

And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only[ son] from me.

“ Do not harm the boy!” the angel said.“ Do not do anything to him, for now I know that you fear God because you did not withhold your son, your only son, from me.”

He said,“ Don’t lay your hand on the boy or do anything to him. For now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only son, from me.”

Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar?You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works;

And Samuel said,“ Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams.

But someone will say,“ You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

because Abraham obeyed my voice and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.”

The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?

but the Lord takes pleasure in those who fear him, in those who hope in his steadfast love.

The friendship of the Lord is for those who fear him, and he makes known to them his covenant.

and have built the high places of Baal to burn their sons in the fire as burnt offerings to Baal, which I did not command or decree, nor did it come into my mind—

But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness shall rise with healing in its wings. You shall go out leaping like calves from the stall.

but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

“ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria had peace and was being built up. And walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it multiplied.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have.

And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive a hundredfold and will inherit eternal life.

Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.

“ With what shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?”He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?

Who is the man who fears the Lord? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Then Jesus told his disciples,“ If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.

I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from doing good to them. And I will put the fear of me in their hearts, that they may not turn from me.

He will deliver you from six troubles; in seven no evil shall touch you.

And he said to man,‘ Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”

Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you.But if you still do wickedly, you shall be swept away, both you and your king.”

On the third day Joseph said to them,“ Do this and you will live, for I fear God:

He said,“ Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.”

Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

for the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

The former governors who were before me laid heavy burdens on the people and took from them for their daily ration forty shekels of silver. Even their servants lorded it over the people. But I did not do so, because of the fear of God.

Moses said to the people,“ Do not fear, for God has come to test you, that the fear of him may be before you, that you may not sin.”

Abraham said,“ I did it because I thought,‘ There is no fear of God at all in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife.’

And from the throne came a voice saying,“ Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, small and great.”

He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.

Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe,

Though a sinner does evil a hundred times and prolongs his life, yet I know that it will be well with those who fear God, because they fear before him.But it will not be well with the wicked, neither will he prolong his days like a shadow, because he does not fear before God.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in his commandments!
