以撒就给那井起名叫示巴，因此那城名叫别是巴，直到今日。

其实自从创世以来，神那看不见的事，就如他永恒的大能和神性，都是看得见的，就是从他所造的万物中可以领悟，叫人没有办法推诿。

但现在藉着众先知所写的，照着永恒的神的谕旨，已经向万国显明出来，使他们相信而顺服。

以色列人行了耶和华看为恶的事，忘记了耶和华他们的神，去事奉众巴力和亚舍拉。
