Early the next morning Abraham took some food and a skin of water and gave them to Hagar. He set them on her shoulders and then sent her off with the boy. She went on her way and wandered in the Desert of Beersheba.

凡你手所當做的事，要盡力去做；因為在你所必須去的陰間沒有工作，沒有謀算，沒有知識，也沒有智慧。

以色列帶着一切所有的，起程到別是巴去，獻祭給他父親以撒的上帝。

清晨起來大聲給朋友祝福的，就算是詛咒他。

有人遇見他，看哪，他在田野走迷了路。那人問他說：「你找甚麼？」

至於亞伯拉罕妾的兒子，亞伯拉罕趁着自己還活着的時候把財物分給他們，打發他們離開他的兒子以撒，往東方去，直到東方之地。

他們清早起來，彼此起誓。以撒送他們走，他們就平平安安地離開他去了。

以掃帶着他的妻子、兒女和家中所有的人，以及他的牛羊、牲畜和一切財物，就是他在迦南地所得的，往別處去，離開了他的兄弟雅各。因為他們擁有的很多，不能住在一起。因為牲畜的緣故，寄居的地方容不下他們。

他們在曠野、在荒地飄流，找不到可居住的城，

他就給那井起名叫示巴，因此那城名叫別是巴，直到今日。

那使女所生的是按着肉體生的；那自由的婦人所生的是憑着應許生的。這是比方：那兩個婦人就是兩個約；一個婦人是出於西奈山，生子為奴，就是夏甲。這夏甲是指着阿拉伯的西奈山，與現在的耶路撒冷同類，因為耶路撒冷和她的兒女都是為奴的。

亞伯拉罕清早起來，預備了驢，帶着跟他一起的兩個僕人和他兒子以撒，劈好了燔祭的柴，就起身往上帝指示他的地方去了。

因為希實本的田地和西比瑪的葡萄樹都衰殘了，列國的君主折斷它的枝幹，這枝子曾長到雅謝，延伸到曠野，嫩枝向外伸出，直伸過海；

所以他給那地方起名叫別是巴，因為他們二人在那裏起了誓。

亞伯拉罕就在別是巴種了一棵柳樹，在那裏求告耶和華－永恆上帝的名。

亞伯拉罕清早起來，到了他先前站在耶和華面前的地方，

奴隸不能永遠住在家裏；兒子才永遠住在家裏。

我速速遵守你的命令，並不遲延。

耶和華的使者在曠野的水泉旁，在書珥路上的水泉旁遇見夏甲，

以利亞害怕，就起來逃命，到了猶大的別是巴，把僕人留在那裏。

於是亞伯拉罕回到他僕人那裏。他們一同起身，往別是巴去，亞伯拉罕就住在別是巴。

然後，僕人和隨從的人才吃喝，並且住了一夜。早晨起來，僕人說：「請讓我回我主人那裏去吧。」
