Then Abimelech called Abraham and said to him,“ What have you done to us? And how have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and my kingdom a great sin? You have done to me things that ought not to be done.”

亚比米勒把亚伯拉罕召了来，对他说：“你为什么向我们这样行呢？我在什么事上得罪了你，以致你给我和我的国带来这个大罪呢？你对我作了不应该作的事。”

亚比米勒又召来亚伯拉罕，对他说：“你对我们做了什么呢？我是怎么对你犯罪的，以致你把这样的大罪带给了我和我的国？你对我做了不应该做的事。”

亞比米勒召了亞伯拉罕來，對他說：「你怎麼向我這樣行呢？我在甚麼事上得罪了你，你竟使我和我國裏的人陷在大罪裏？你向我行不當行的事了！」

亞比米勒召了亞伯拉罕來，對他說：「你怎麼向我這樣做呢？我甚麼事得罪你，你竟使我和我的國陷在大罪中呢？你對我做了不該做的事了！」

亞比米勒召見亞伯拉罕，對他說：「你為什麼要害我們？我什麼地方得罪了你？你竟使我和我的人民陷入大罪！你不該這樣做。」

亞比米勒把亞伯拉罕召了來，對他說：“你為甚麼向我們這樣行呢？我在甚麼事上得罪了你，以致你給我和我的國帶來這個大罪呢？你對我作了不應該作的事。”

亞比米勒把亞伯拉罕召來，對他說：『你怎麼向我們這樣行呢？我得罪了你甚麼，你竟使我和我國內的人都陷於大罪呢？你向我行了不該行的事了。』

亞比米勒又召來亞伯拉罕，對他說：「你對我們做了什麼呢？我是怎麼對你犯罪的，以致你把這樣的大罪帶給了我和我的國？你對我做了不應該做的事。」

亞比米勒召亞伯拉罕曰、爾於我儕、所為何耶、我何事獲罪爾、乃陷我於重罪、爰及我國、爾之行於我者、實非所宜、

亞庇米力呼亞伯拉罕曰、爾果何為、我曷嘗獲罪爾、爾乃陷我於重罪、爰及人民、爾之相待、甚非所宜。

亞比米勒召亞伯拉罕曰、爾向我何為、我何嘗獲罪於爾、爾竟以我與我國、陷於重罪、爾向我為所不可為之事、

Then Abimelek called Abraham in and said,“ What have you done to us? How have I wronged you that you have brought such great guilt upon me and my kingdom? You have done things to me that should never be done.”

Then Abimelek called Abraham in. Abimelek said,“ What have you done to us? Have I done something wrong to you? Why have you brought so much guilt on me and my kingdom? You have done things to me that should never be done.”

Then Abimelech called for Abraham.“ What have you done to us?” he demanded.“ What crime have I committed that deserves treatment like this, making me and my kingdom guilty of this great sin? No one should ever do what you have done!

Then Abimelech called Abraham in and said to him,“ What have you done to us? How did I sin against you that you have brought such enormous guilt on me and on my kingdom? You have done things to me that should never be done.”

Then Abimelech called Abraham and said to him,“ What have you done to us? And how have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done to me things that ought not to be done.”

And Abimelech called Abraham and said to him,“ What have you done to us? How have I offended you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done.”

Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and wherein have I sinned against thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.

Then Abimelech called Abraham in and said to him,“ What have you done to us? How did I sin against you that you have brought such enormous guilt on me and on my kingdom? You have done things to me that should never be done.”

Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said unto him, What hast thou done unto us? and what have I offended thee, that thou hast brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? thou hast done deeds unto me that ought not to be done.

Abimelech summoned Abraham and said to him,“ What have you done to us? What sin did I commit against you that would cause you to bring such great guilt on me and my kingdom? You have done things to me that should not be done!”

Then Abimelech called Abraham, and said to him,“ What have you done to us? How have I sinned against you, that you have brought on me and on my kingdom a great sin? You have done deeds to me that ought not to be done!”

So Pharaoh called Abram and said,“ What is this you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?

Abimelech said,“ What is this you have done to us? One of the people might easily have lain with your wife, and you would have brought guilt upon us.”

He is not greater in this house than I am, nor has he kept back anything from me except you, because you are his wife. How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?”

The sons of Jacob had come in from the field as soon as they heard of it, and the men were indignant and very angry, because he had done an outrageous thing in Israel by lying with Jacob’s daughter, for such a thing must not be done.

They must be silenced, since they are upsetting whole families by teaching for shameful gain what they ought not to teach.

About three months later Judah was told,“ Tamar your daughter-in-law has been immoral. Moreover, she is pregnant by immorality.” And Judah said,“ Bring her out, and let her be burned.”

She answered him,“ No, my brother, do not violate me, for such a thing is not done in Israel; do not do this outrageous thing.

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous.

Then the Lord sent a plague on the people, because they made the calf, the one that Aaron made.

And Joshua said,“ Why did you bring trouble on us? The Lord brings trouble on you today.” And all Israel stoned him with stones. They burned them with fire and stoned them with stones.

For God shows no partiality.

And he said,“ Why does my lord pursue after his servant? For what have I done? What evil is on my hands?Now therefore let my lord the king hear the words of his servant. If it is the Lord who has stirred you up against me, may he accept an offering, but if it is men, may they be cursed before the Lord, for they have driven me out this day that I should have no share in the heritage of the Lord, saying,‘ Go, serve other gods.’

And Moses said to Aaron,“ What did this people do to you that you have brought such a great sin upon them?”

Now therefore the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife.’Thus says the Lord,‘ Behold, I will raise up evil against you out of your own house. And I will take your wives before your eyes and give them to your neighbor, and he shall lie with your wives in the sight of this sun.

Whoever misleads the upright into an evil way will fall into his own pit, but the blameless will have a goodly inheritance.

“ If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

Then David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man, and he said to Nathan,“ As the Lord lives, the man who has done this deserves to die,
