以撒居其臘、

亞伯拉罕時、歲薦饑、以撒時、其地又饑、故往其臘、至非利士人王亞庇米力。

一日時已亭午、亞伯拉罕坐於幕門、其幕在慢哩橡下、耶和華顯現。

緣此、其泉名曰別拉海萊、今在迦鐵庇列間有之。○

亞伯蘭妻撒勑不育、有埃及婢名夏甲。

耶和華之使者、遇之於野、其地近泉、去書耳之路無幾。

迦南之境、從西頓、近其臘、至迦薩、沿及所多馬、蛾摩拉、押馬、西編、拉沙。

亞庇米力與友亞戶撒、暨軍長非各、自其臘來見以撒。

至巴蘭野、鄰於迦鐵、見摩西亞倫、及以色列會眾、告以諸事、以土產示眾、

昔在汛野、米利巴迦鐵之處爾曹逆我、不於以色列族前尊我、

掃羅擊亞馬力人、自哈腓拉及書耳道、埃及相向之所。

我呼籲耶和華、耶和華垂聽、遣使導我出埃及、今在迦鐵、爾國之疆隅也。

厥後、我儕遵我上帝耶和華命、自何烈遄征、經歷曠野、其境甚廣、其形可畏、道由亞摩哩山、至迦鐵巴尼亞。

亞撒蒙耶和華佑、帥師追殺、至其臘、多獲輜重、古實之軍熸焉、其國幾不復振。其臘四境、慄慄危懼、畏耶和華不敢禦敵、故以色列族擊之、所獲不可勝計。

亞伯蘭與妻並羅得、及凡所有者、出埃及、往詣南方、

同盟列王、歸至安密八即迦鐵、擊亞馬勒地及哈洗遜大馬之亞摩哩人。

迦鐵山野、為其所震、

其臘牧者與以撒牧者爭、曰、此屬於我。因其相爭、故以撒稱其井曰埃色。

時以撒居南、適自別拉海萊而至。
