到了城外，其中一位天使说：“赶快逃！不要回头看，也不要留在平原，要往山上逃，免得你们被毁灭。”

你们为什么这样忽东忽西地变来变去呢？你们投奔埃及必蒙羞辱，就像从前投奔亚述一样。你们必灰头土脸地离开埃及，因为耶和华弃绝了你们的靠山，你们从他们那里必得不到帮助。”

罗得举目眺望，看见整个约旦河平原，远至琐珥，水源充足。在耶和华还没有毁灭所多玛和蛾摩拉之前，那地方就好像耶和华的伊甸园，又像埃及。
