And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

And his father refused, and said, I know[ it], my son, I know[ it]: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.

And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth,[ then] shall thy seed also be numbered.

And the angel of the LORD said unto her, I will multiply thy seed exceedingly, that it shall not be numbered for multitude.

That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which[ is] upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first[ day] of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of[ their] names, every male by their polls;From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one head of the house of his fathers.And these[ are] the names of the men that shall stand with you: of[ the tribe of] Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab.Of Issachar; Nethaneel the son of Zuar.Of Zebulun; Eliab the son of Helon.Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.Of Benjamin; Abidan the son of Gideoni.Of Dan; Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.Of Asher; Pagiel the son of Ocran.Of Gad; Eliasaph the son of Deuel.Of Naphtali; Ahira the son of Enan.These[ were] the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by[ their] names:And they assembled all the congregation together on the first[ day] of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.As the LORD commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.And the children of Reuben, Israel’s eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Reuben,[ were] forty and six thousand and five hundred.Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Simeon,[ were] fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Gad,[ were] forty and five thousand six hundred and fifty.Of the children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Judah,[ were] threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.Of the children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Issachar,[ were] fifty and four thousand and four hundred.Of the children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Zebulun,[ were] fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.Of the children of Joseph,[ namely], of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Ephraim,[ were] forty thousand and five hundred.Of the children of Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Manasseh,[ were] thirty and two thousand and two hundred.Of the children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Benjamin,[ were] thirty and five thousand and four hundred.Of the children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Dan,[ were] threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.Of the children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Asher,[ were] forty and one thousand and five hundred.Of the children of Naphtali, throughout their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;Those that were numbered of them,[ even] of the tribe of Naphtali,[ were] fifty and three thousand and four hundred.These[ are] those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel,[ being] twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.For the LORD had spoken unto Moses, saying,Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that[ belong] to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.

And it came to pass after the plague, that the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying,Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, throughout their fathers’ house, all that are able to go to war in Israel.And Moses and Eleazar the priest spake with them in the plains of Moab by Jordan[ near] Jericho, saying,[ Take the sum of the people], from twenty years old and upward; as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel, which went forth out of the land of Egypt.Reuben, the eldest son of Israel: the children of Reuben; Hanoch,[ of whom cometh] the family of the Hanochites: of Pallu, the family of the Palluites:Of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.These[ are] the families of the Reubenites: and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.And the sons of Pallu; Eliab.And the sons of Eliab; Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. This[ is that] Dathan and Abiram,[ which were] famous in the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD:And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died, what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men: and they became a sign.Notwithstanding the children of Korah died not.The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites: of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites: of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites:Of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites: of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.These[ are] the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.The children of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites: of Haggi, the family of the Haggites: of Shuni, the family of the Shunites:Of Ozni, the family of the Oznites: of Eri, the family of the Erites:Of Arod, the family of the Arodites: of Areli, the family of the Arelites.These[ are] the families of the children of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.The sons of Judah[ were] Er and Onan: and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.And the sons of Judah after their families were; of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites: of Pharez, the family of the Pharzites: of Zerah, the family of the Zarhites.And the sons of Pharez were; of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites: of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.These[ are] the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.[ Of] the sons of Issachar after their families:[ of] Tola, the family of the Tolaites: of Pua, the family of the Punites:Of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites: of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.These[ are] the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.[ Of] the sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Sardites: of Elon, the family of the Elonites: of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.These[ are] the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.The sons of Joseph after their families[ were] Manasseh and Ephraim.Of the sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites: and Machir begat Gilead: of Gilead[ come] the family of the Gileadites.These[ are] the sons of Gilead:[ of] Jeezer, the family of the Jeezerites: of Helek, the family of the Helekites:And[ of] Asriel, the family of the Asrielites: and[ of] Shechem, the family of the Shechemites:And[ of] Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites: and[ of] Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters: and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad[ were] Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.These[ are] the families of Manasseh, and those that were numbered of them, fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.These[ are] the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthalhites: of Becher, the family of the Bachrites: of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.And these[ are] the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.These[ are] the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These[ are] the sons of Joseph after their families.The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites: of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites: of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites:Of Shupham, the family of the Shuphamites: of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman:[ of Ard], the family of the Ardites:[ and] of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.These[ are] the sons of Benjamin after their families: and they that were numbered of them[ were] forty and five thousand and six hundred.These[ are] the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These[ are] the families of Dan after their families.All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them,[ were] threescore and four thousand and four hundred.[ Of] the children of Asher after their families: of Jimna, the family of the Jimnites: of Jesui, the family of the Jesuites: of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites: of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.And the name of the daughter of Asher[ was] Sarah.These[ are] the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them;[ who were] fifty and three thousand and four hundred.[ Of] the sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites: of Guni, the family of the Gunites:Of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites: of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.These[ are] the families of Naphtali according to their families: and they that were numbered of them[ were] forty and five thousand and four hundred.These[ were] the numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand and a thousand seven hundred and thirty.And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance: to every one shall his inheritance be given according to those that were numbered of him.Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot: according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.According to the lot shall the possession thereof be divided between many and few.And these[ are] they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites: of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites: of Merari, the family of the Merarites.These[ are] the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korathites. And Kohath begat Amram.And the name of Amram’s wife[ was] Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, whom[ her mother] bare to Levi in Egypt: and she bare unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.And unto Aaron was born Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the LORD.And those that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, all males from a month old and upward: for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.These[ are] they that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan[ near] Jericho.But among these there was not a man of them whom Moses and Aaron the priest numbered, when they numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.For the LORD had said of them, They shall surely die in the wilderness. And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

Then again Abraham took a wife, and her name[ was] Keturah.And she bare him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.And Jokshan begat Sheba, and Dedan. And the sons of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.And the sons of Midian; Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these[ were] the children of Keturah.And Abraham gave all that he had unto Isaac.But unto the sons of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.And these[ are] the days of the years of Abraham’s life which he lived, an hundred threescore and fifteen years.Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good old age, an old man, and full[ of years]; and was gathered to his people.And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which[ is] before Mamre;The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac; and Isaac dwelt by the well Lahairoi.Now these[ are] the generations of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah’s handmaid, bare unto Abraham:And these[ are] the names of the sons of Ishmael, by their names, according to their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebajoth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,Hadar, and Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah:These[ are] the sons of Ishmael, and these[ are] their names, by their towns, and by their castles; twelve princes according to their nations.And these[ are] the years of the life of Ishmael, an hundred and thirty and seven years: and he gave up the ghost and died; and was gathered unto his people.And they dwelt from Havilah unto Shur, that[ is] before Egypt, as thou goest toward Assyria:[ and] he died in the presence of all his brethren.

And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which[ he had yet] being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which[ he had] being[ yet] uncircumcised.For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world,[ was] not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.For if they which are of the law[ be] heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is,[ there is] no transgression.Therefore[ it is] of faith, that[ it might be] by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,( As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed,[ even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

And thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and make thy seed as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.And if ye[ be] Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
