以下這些人是以實瑪利的後代：以實瑪利是亞伯拉罕的兒子，就是撒拉的婢女埃及人夏甲給亞伯拉罕生的。以下這幾名是以實瑪利子孫的名字，按名字、照世系排列的：以實瑪利的大兒子是尼拜約；其餘的兒子是基達、亞德別、米比衫、米施瑪、度瑪、瑪撒、哈達、提瑪、伊突、拿非施、基底瑪：這些人是以實瑪利的兒子；這幾名是他們的名字，按他們的村莊和營房做了十二個族長，各照他們的宗族。以實瑪利一生的年日是一百三十七歲；他氣絕而死，就被收殮歸他先族人。他居住的是從哈腓拉直到埃及東面的書珥，正在往亞述的道兒上：以實瑪利是面對着眾邦親住下來的。
