Then God said,“ Yes, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will call him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

Then God said,“ Yes, I will bless Ishmael. But your wife Sarah will have a son by you. And you will name him Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him. That covenant will last forever. It will be for Isaac and his family after him.

God said,“ No, but Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.

But God replied,“ No— Sarah, your wife, will give birth to a son for you. You will name him Isaac, and I will confirm my covenant with him and his descendants as an everlasting covenant.

But God said,“ No. Your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will confirm my covenant with him as a permanent covenant for his future offspring.

But God said,“ No, but your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you shall name him Isaac; and I will establish My covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his descendants after him.

Then God said:“ No, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son, and you shall call his name Isaac; I will establish My covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his descendants after him.

And God said, Nay, but Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.

But God said,“ No. Your wife Sarah will bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will confirm My covenant with him as an everlasting covenant for his future offspring.

And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant,[ and] with his seed after him.

God said,“ No, Sarah your wife is going to bear you a son, and you will name him Isaac. I will confirm my covenant with him as a perpetual covenant for his descendants after him.

God said,“ No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his offspring after him.

当然，这不是说神的话落了空，因为出自以色列的，不都是以色列人；也不因为他们是亚伯拉罕的后裔，就都成为他的儿女，只有“以撒生的，才可以称为你的后裔”，这就是说，肉身生的儿女并不是神的儿女，只有凭着应许生的儿女才算是后裔。因为所应许的话是这样：“明年这个时候我要来，撒拉必定生一个儿子。”

天使说：“撒迦利亚，不要怕，因为你的祈求已蒙垂听，你妻子以利沙伯要给你生一个儿子，你要给他起名叫约翰。你必欢喜快乐，许多人因他出生，也必喜乐。他在主面前要被尊为大，淡酒浓酒都不喝，未出母腹就被圣灵充满。他要使许多以色列人转向主他们的神。他必有以利亚的灵和能力，行在主的前面，叫父亲的心转向儿女，叫悖逆的转向义人的意念，为主安排那预备好了的人民。”撒迦利亚对天使说：“我怎么能知道这事呢？我已经老了，我妻子也上了年纪。”天使回答：“我是站在神面前的加百列，奉差遣向你说话，报给你这好消息。看吧！到了时候我的话必要应验；因为你不信我的话，你必成为哑巴，直到这些事成就的那一天，才能说话。”

亚伯拉罕年老的时候，撒拉怀了孕，到了神应许的日期，就给亚伯拉罕生了一个儿子。亚伯拉罕给撒拉为他所生的儿子，起名叫以撒。

可是，弟兄们，你们是按着应许作儿女的，好像以撒一样。不过，当时那按着肉体生的，迫害那按着圣灵生的，现在也是这样。然而经上怎样说呢？“把婢女和她的儿子赶出去，因为婢女的儿子，绝对不可以和自由的妇人的儿子一同承受产业。”所以，弟兄们，我们不是婢女的儿女，而是自由的妇人的儿女了。

撒拉说：“神使我欢笑，凡听见的，也必为我欢笑。”

以利沙说：“明年这个时分，时候到了，你必怀抱一个儿子。”她说：“神人哪！不要欺哄你的婢女。”这妇人果然怀了孕，到明年这个时分，时候到了，她就生了一个儿子，正如以利沙对她所说的。

其中一位说：“到明年这个时候，我必回到你这里来。那时，你的妻子撒拉必生一个儿子。”撒拉在那人后面的帐棚门口，也听见了这话。当时，亚伯拉罕和撒拉都老了，上了年纪，撒拉的月经也停止了。撒拉心里暗笑，说：“现在我已经衰老了，我的丈夫也老了，我还有房事的乐趣吗？”耶和华对亚伯拉罕说：“撒拉为什么暗笑说：‘我已经老了，真的还能生育吗？’耶和华岂有难成的事吗？到明年这个时候，我要回到你这里来，那时，撒拉必生一个儿子。”

你要寄居在这地，我必与你同在，必赐福给你，因为我要把这全地都赐给你和你的后裔，履行我向你父亲亚伯拉罕所起的誓。

但我的约是要和以撒坚立的。这以撒，就是明年这时候，撒拉要为你生的。”
