Sarai said to Abram,“ Since the LORD has prevented me from bearing children, go to my slave; perhaps through her I can build a family.” And Abram agreed to what Sarai said.

撒莱对亚伯兰说：“耶和华使我不能生育。求你和我的使女同房，或者我可以因她得孩子。”亚伯兰听从了撒莱的话。

撒莱对亚伯兰说：“看哪，耶和华使我不能生育。你来和我的婢女同房，也许我可以从她得孩子。”亚伯兰听从了撒莱的话。

撒莱对亚伯兰说：“看哪，耶和华使我不能生育。你来和我的婢女同房，也许我可以从她得孩子。”亚伯兰听从了撒莱的话。

撒莱对亚伯兰说：“耶和华不让我生育，请你与我的婢女同房，也许我可以借着她生子立后。”亚伯兰同意了撒莱的话。

撒莱对亚伯兰说：“请看，耶和华使我不能生育，求你去亲近我的婢女，或者我可以从她得孩子。”亚伯兰就听从了撒莱的话。

撒莱对亚伯兰说：“看哪，耶和华使我不能生育，请你与我的婢女同房，或许我可以藉着她立后。”亚伯兰听从了撒莱的话。

撒萊對亞伯蘭說：「耶和華使我不能生育。求你和我的使女同房，或者我可以因她得孩子。」亞伯蘭聽從了撒萊的話。

撒萊對亞伯蘭說：「耶和華不讓我生育，請你與我的婢女同房，也許我可以藉著她生子立後。」亞伯蘭同意了撒萊的話。

撒萊對亞伯蘭說：“請看，耶和華使我不能生育，求你去親近我的婢女，或者我可以從她得孩子。”亞伯蘭就聽從了撒萊的話。

撒萊對亞伯蘭說：『你看，永恆主抑制我、使我不能生育；求你進去找我婢女，或者我的後裔得以樹立起來。』亞伯蘭聽從了撒萊的話。

撒萊對亞伯蘭說：「看哪，耶和華使我不能生育，請你與我的婢女同房，或許我可以藉著她立後。」亞伯蘭聽從了撒萊的話。

撒萊謂亞伯蘭曰、耶和華禁我生育、請爾與我婢同室、我或可因之得子、亞伯蘭從其言、

so she said to Abram,“ The Lord has kept me from having children. Go, sleep with my slave; perhaps I can build a family through her.” Abram agreed to what Sarai said.

So she said to Abram,“ The Lord has kept me from having children. Go and sleep with my slave. Maybe I can have a family through her.” Abram agreed to what Sarai had said.

And Sarai said to Abram,“ Behold now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Go in to my servant; it may be that I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

So Sarai said to Abram,“ The Lord has prevented me from having children. Go and sleep with my servant. Perhaps I can have children through her.” And Abram agreed with Sarai’s proposal.

So Sarai said to Abram,“ See now, the Lord has prevented me from bearing children. Please have relations with my slave woman; perhaps I will obtain children through her.” And Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

So Sarai said to Abram,“ See now, the Lord has restrained me from bearing children. Please, go in to my maid; perhaps I shall obtain children by her.” And Abram heeded the voice of Sarai.

And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, Jehovah hath restrained me from bearing; go in, I pray thee, unto my handmaid; it may be that I shall obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

Sarai said to Abram,“ Since the Lord has prevented me from bearing children, go to my slave; perhaps through her I can build a family.” And Abram agreed to what Sarai said.

And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai.

So Sarai said to Abram,“ Since the LORD has prevented me from having children, have sexual relations with my servant. Perhaps I can have a family by her.” Abram did what Sarai told him.

Sarai said to Abram,“ See now, Yahweh has restrained me from bearing. Please go in to my servant. It may be that I will obtain children by her.” Abram listened to the voice of Sarai.

Isaac prayed to the LORD on behalf of his wife because she was childless. The LORD was receptive to his prayer, and his wife Rebekah conceived.

Sons are indeed a heritage from the LORD, offspring, a reward.

The LORD said,“ I will certainly come back to you in about a year’s time, and your wife Sarah will have a son!” Now Sarah was listening at the entrance of the tent behind him.

for the LORD had completely closed all the wombs in Abimelech’s household on account of Sarah, Abraham’s wife.

When Leah saw that she had stopped having children, she took her slave Zilpah and gave her to Jacob as a wife.Leah’s slave Zilpah bore Jacob a son.

The man replied,“ The woman you gave to be with me— she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate.”

All the people who were at the city gate, including the elders, said,“ We are witnesses. May the LORD make the woman who is entering your house like Rachel and Leah, who together built the house of Israel. May you be powerful in Ephrathah and your name well known in Bethlehem.

Now the serpent was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman,“ Did God really say,‘ You can’t eat from any tree in the garden’?”The woman said to the serpent,“ We may eat the fruit from the trees in the garden.But about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God said,‘ You must not eat it or touch it, or you will die.’”“ No! You will certainly not die,” the serpent said to the woman.“ In fact, God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”The woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom. So she took some of its fruit and ate it; she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Then God remembered Rachel. He listened to her and opened her womb.

If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children belong to her master, and the man must leave alone.

Jacob became angry with Rachel and said,“ Am I in the place of God? He has withheld offspring from you!”Then she said,“ Here is my maid Bilhah. Go sleep with her, and she’ll bear children for me so that through her I too can build a family.”So Rachel gave her slave Bilhah to Jacob as a wife, and he slept with her.

And he said to the man,“ Because you listened to your wife and ate from the tree about which I commanded you,‘ Do not eat from it’: The ground is cursed because of you. You will eat from it by means of painful labor all the days of your life.

I will bless her; indeed, I will give you a son by her. I will bless her, and she will produce nations; kings of peoples will come from her.”

Rachel said,“ God has vindicated me; yes, he has heard me and given me a son,” so she named him Dan.
