But Abram replied,“ O Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t even have a son? Since you’ve given me no children, Eliezer of Damascus, a servant in my household, will inherit all my wealth.

亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，我既无子，你还赐我什么呢？并且要承受我家业的是大马士革人以利以谢。”

亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，我还没有儿子，你能赐我什么呢？承受我家业的是大马士革人以利以谢。”

亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，我还没有儿子，你能赐我什么呢？承受我家业的是大马士革人以利以谢。”

亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，你要赐我什么呢？我没有儿子，继承我家业的人是大马士革人以利以谢。”

亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，我一向都没有孩子，你还能赐给我什么呢？这样，承受我家业的，就是大马士革人以利以谢了。”

亚伯兰说：“主耶和华啊，你要赐给我什么呢？我一直没有孩子，我家业的继承人是大马士革人以利以谢。”

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，我既無子，你還賜我甚麼呢？並且要承受我家業的是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，我還沒有兒子，你能賜我甚麼呢？承受我家業的是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，我還沒有兒子，你能賜我甚麼呢？承受我家業的是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，你要賜我什麼呢？我沒有兒子，繼承我家業的人是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

亞伯蘭說：“主耶和華啊，我一向都沒有孩子，你還能賜給我甚麼呢？這樣，承受我家業的，就是大馬士革人以利以謝了。”

亞伯蘭說：『主啊，我，我快要去世了還沒有兒子，你還賜給我甚麼呢？那麼承受我家業的、就將要是大馬色以利以謝了！』

亞伯蘭說：「主耶和華啊，你要賜給我什麼呢？我一直沒有孩子，我家業的繼承人是大馬士革人以利以謝。」

亞伯蘭曰、主耶和華歟、何以賜我、蓋我無子、承我業者、大馬色人以利以謝也、

亞伯蘭曰、吾主耶和華將何以賜我、蓋我無子、惟大馬色人以利亞薩為我家宰。

亞伯蘭曰、主天主歟、何以賜我、蓋我無子、惟大瑪色人以利亞薩將為我嗣、將為我嗣或作為我家宰

But Abram said,“ Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”

But Abram said,“ Lord and King, what can you give me? I still don’t have any children. My servant Eliezer comes from Damascus. When I die, he will get everything I own.”

But Abram said,“ O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

But Abram said,“ Lord GOD, what can you give me, since I am childless and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

But Abram said,“ Lord God, what will You give me, since I am childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

But Abram said,“ Lord GOD, what will You give me, seeing I go childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

And Abram said, O Lord Jehovah, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and he that shall be possessor of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?

But Abram said,“ Lord God, what can You give me, since I am childless and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house[ is] this Eliezer of Damascus?

But Abram said,“ O sovereign LORD, what will you give me since I continue to be childless, and my heir is Eliezer of Damascus?”

Abram said,“ Lord Yahweh, what will you give me, since I go childless, and he who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”

Isaac pleaded with the Lord on behalf of his wife, because she was unable to have children. The Lord answered Isaac’s prayer, and Rebekah became pregnant with twins.

“ But God gave him no inheritance here, not even one square foot of land. God did promise, however, that eventually the whole land would belong to Abraham and his descendants— even though he had no children yet.

A wise servant will rule over the master’s disgraceful son and will share the inheritance of the master’s children.

Then he loaded ten of Abraham’s camels with all kinds of expensive gifts from his master, and he traveled to distant Aram naharaim. There he went to the town where Abraham’s brother Nahor had settled.

When Rachel saw that she wasn’t having any children for Jacob, she became jealous of her sister. She pleaded with Jacob,“ Give me children, or I’ll die!”Then Jacob became furious with Rachel.“ Am I God?” he asked.“ He’s the one who has kept you from having children!”

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.

When his brothers were ready to leave, Joseph gave these instructions to his palace manager:“ Fill each of their sacks with as much grain as they can carry, and put each man’s money back into his sack.

The brothers approached the manager of Joseph’s household and spoke to him at the entrance to the palace.

And she made this vow:“ O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, if you will look upon my sorrow and answer my prayer and give me a son, then I will give him back to you. He will be yours for his entire lifetime, and as a sign that he has been dedicated to the Lord, his hair will never be cut.”

This pleased Potiphar, so he soon made Joseph his personal attendant. He put him in charge of his entire household and everything he owned.From the day Joseph was put in charge of his master’s household and property, the Lord began to bless Potiphar’s household for Joseph’s sake. All his household affairs ran smoothly, and his crops and livestock flourished.So Potiphar gave Joseph complete administrative responsibility over everything he owned. With Joseph there, he didn’t worry about a thing— except what kind of food to eat! Joseph was a very handsome and well built young man,

No one here has more authority than I do. He has held back nothing from me except you, because you are his wife. How could I do such a wicked thing? It would be a great sin against God.”

One day Abraham said to his oldest servant, the man in charge of his household,“ Take an oath by putting your hand under my thigh.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a dream fulfilled is a tree of life.

The Lord had said to Abram,“ Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you.”

I will give them— within the walls of my house— a memorial and a name far greater than sons and daughters could give. For the name I give them is an everlasting one. It will never disappear!
