我必使爾苗裔、如塵沙然、若有能核塵沙之數者、則爾苗裔、亦可計矣。

I will make your offspring like the dust of the earth, so that if anyone could count the dust, then your offspring could be counted.

I will make them like the dust of the earth. Can dust be counted? If it can, then your family can be counted.

I will make your offspring as the dust of the earth, so that if one can count the dust of the earth, your offspring also can be counted.

And I will give you so many descendants that, like the dust of the earth, they cannot be counted!

爾裔繁衍如塵沙、蔓延四方、天下兆民、憑藉爾裔、以徼福祉。

雅各之裔如沙、孰能悉其數、以色列之眾、誰克稽其半、善者逝世、我願如之、彼得考終、吾竊效焉。

爾曾許以恩加我、使我苗裔如海沙、不可勝數。○

我必大賚爾福祉、昌熾爾子孫、如天星之眾多、如海沙之無量、爾子孫將勝諸敵、

爾所簡之民甚眾、不可勝數、爾之臣僕居於其中、

遂攜之門外曰、仰觀乎天、眾星可悉數與。又曰、汝苗裔必如是。

求爾憶念爾僕。亞伯拉罕、以撒、以色列、昔爾指己而誓、必熾昌其後、如天星之眾多、錫以所言之地、俾為永業。

亞伯拉罕繼娶、名基都喇、生心蘭、約山、米但、米田、益八、書亞。約山生示巴、底但。底但生亞書利、利都是、利烏米。米田生以法、以弗、哈諾、亞庇大、以勒大、咸屬基都喇子孫。○亞伯拉罕以凡所有遺於以撒。當其存日、眾庶子各有所予、使往東方、以避以撒。亞伯拉罕享壽一百七十有五。壽高年邁、氣絕而終、乃返其本、其子以撒以實馬利葬之於麥比拉穴、與慢哩相對、即赫人鎖轄子以弗崙之田、昔亞伯拉罕所購者、其妻撒拉亦葬於此。○

彼必昌大其國、天下兆民、藉之受福。

猶大以色列二族、眾如海濱之沙、不可勝數、皆飲食歡樂。

自後我觀群眾、不可勝數、由列國民、及諸族姓至、立於位及羔前、衣白衣、執棗枝、

曰、我乃上帝、即爾父之上帝、爾往埃及勿懼、我必昌熾爾族、使成大國。

至以實馬利、我應爾求、我將錫嘏其裔、繁衍不可勝數、必出十二牧伯、昌大其國。

願全能之上帝、鍚嘏於爾、使爾繁衍、為兆民祖。

核其數、按其譜、臚列於左、猶大族中、押拿冠於千夫長、率武士三十萬。其次約哈難率二十八萬。其次色哩子亞馬邪、樂從耶和華、率武士二十萬、便雅憫族中、豪傑之士、以利亞大、率執盾挽弓者二十萬。其次約薩八、率戰卒十八萬。

是以一人血氣雖衰、生育蕃衍、如眾星之在天、猶海沙之無量、

我將使爾後成為大邦、錫嘏於爾、畀爾顯名、必蒙綏祉。祝爾者吾亦祝之、詛爾者吾亦詛之、天下兆民、將藉爾受福焉。

敵與駱駝、牲畜、帷幕、如蝗眾多、不可勝數、既至、欲滅斯土。

然婢之子、亦屬爾出、我必使為其後成為大國。

耶和華曾有應許、必繁衍以色列族、如天星之多、故二十歲以下者、大闢不核。

必繁衍爾苗裔、如天星之眾多、以此列邦錫之、天下兆民、將藉爾裔而受福。

又曰、我乃全能之上帝、使爾生育眾多、以成群族、列王皆由爾出。

以掃即以東、其裔如左、以掃娶迦南二女為室、其一赫人以倫女亞大其一希未人祭便孫、亞拿女亞何利巴馬。又娶以實馬利女尼排約妹巴實抹為室。亞大生以利法、巴實抹生流耳、亞何利巴馬生耶是、雅蘭、可喇、此皆以掃於迦南地所生。以掃率其妻與子女家人群畜牲牷、及在迦南所獲者、往詣他方、離弟雅各、蓋二人財貨充盈、牲畜成群、所旅之地褊小、不能同居。○以掃居西耳山、為以東族人之祖、其裔如左、

統核民眾、以數進大闢。以色列族能從軍者、百有十萬、猶大族四十有七萬。

天象不可測、海沙不能度、我僕大闢之裔、及服事我之利未人必使繁衍、亦若是。

我將錫嘏、賜之生子、為群民母、列王由之出。

願爾恪遵我命、享綏安、若江河之浩渺、得仁義、若波濤之洶湧。爾之子孫、多若塵沙、爾之苗裔、繁若鱗族、爾之邦國、必不滅絕、歷世靡暨。

以色列族耕稼既畢、米田亞馬力與東方之人、咸來攻擊、

故應許本乎信、實由上帝恩、而應許益堅、且及苗裔、其為裔、不惟遵法、乃效吾父亞伯拉罕之信、經云、我命爾為萬民父焉、且上帝使死者生、變無為有亞伯拉罕篤信上帝、故在其前、得為吾眾之父、亞伯拉罕本絕望、因信而有望、得為萬民父、如上帝云、爾之後裔、將若星然、

以色列族生育繁多、昌熾是邦、日以強大。

我將繁衍爾子孫、使爾為群民之祖、列王由爾而出、
