From there he went on toward the hills east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the Lord and called on the name of the Lord.

From there, Abram went on toward the hills east of Bethel. He set up his tent there. Bethel was to the west, and Ai was to the east. Abram built an altar there and called on the name of the Lord.

From there he moved to the hill country on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. And there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord.

After that, Abram traveled south and set up camp in the hill country, with Bethel to the west and Ai to the east. There he built another altar and dedicated it to the Lord, and he worshiped the Lord.

From there he moved on to the hill country east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. He built an altar to the LORD there, and he called on the name of the LORD.

Then he proceeded from there to the mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord.

And he removed from thence unto the mountain on the east of Beth- el, and pitched his tent, having Beth- el on the west, and Ai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto Jehovah, and called upon the name of Jehovah.

Then he moved from there to the hill country east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to the LORD and worshiped the LORD.

He left from there to go to the mountain on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Ai on the east. There he built an altar to Yahweh and called on Yahweh’s name.

塞特也生了一个儿子，就给他起名叫以挪士。那时人才开始呼求耶和华的名。

有些便雅悯人住在迦巴、密抹、亚雅、伯特利和属于伯特利的乡村，

亚伯拉罕在别是巴栽了一棵垂丝柳树，就在那里求告耶和华永活的神的名。

他就给那地方起名叫伯特利，但那城起初名叫路斯。

那时，约书亚从耶利哥派人到伯特利东边，靠近伯．亚文的艾城去，吩咐他们说：“你们上去窥探那地。”那些人就上去，窥探艾城。

于是，约书亚和所有能作战的人都起来上艾城去；约书亚选了三万英勇的战士，趁夜派他们出去，

亚述人来到亚叶，经过米矶仑；在密抹存放军队行装。

也是他筑头一座祭坛的地方，亚伯兰就在那里求告耶和华的名。

那时，求告耶和华的名的，都必得救；因为正如耶和华所说的，在锡安山和耶路撒冷必有得救的人，在劫后余生的人中，必有耶和华所呼召的。”（本章第28~32节在《马索拉文本》为3:1~5）

雅各给神与他谈话的地方起名叫伯特利。他们从伯特利起程，离以法他还有一段路程的时候，拉结产期到了；但她遇到难产。

那时，我呼求耶和华的名，说：“耶和华啊！求你拯救我。”

艾城和伯特利城没有留下一个人不出来追赶以色列人；他们撇下了敞开的城门，去追赶以色列人。

伯．亚拉巴、洗玛莲、伯特利、

那时，凡求告主名的，都必得救。’

写信给在哥林多神的教会，就是在基督耶稣里已经被分别为圣，蒙召为圣徒的人，和所有在各地呼求我们主耶稣基督的名的人。基督是他们的主，也是我们的主。

我们要起程，上伯特利去；我要在那里给神筑一座祭坛，他就是在我遭患难的时候应允我的呼求，在我所行的路上与我同行的那一位。”

其实并不分犹太人和希腊人，因为大家同有一位主；他厚待所有求告他的人，因为“凡求告主名的，都必得救。”然而，人还没有信他，怎能求告他呢？没有听见他，怎能信他呢？没有人传扬，怎能听见呢？
