The Lord appeared to Abram and said,“ To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

必以爾所居之地、即迦南全地、賜爾及爾後裔、永為世業、我亦為其天主、

亞伯蘭九十九歲時、主顯現於亞伯蘭諭之曰、我乃全能之天主、爾當奉事我、為全備之人、

即與亞伯拉罕所立之約、向以撒所發之誓、為雅各定為長久之命、與以色列立為永遠之約、曰、我必賜爾以迦南地、為爾應得之產業、當時彼尚人寡、其數無幾、在斯地寄居為旅、

主顯現於亞伯拉罕在幔利橡樹處、日亭午、亞伯拉罕適坐幕門、

天主應許亞伯拉罕及其裔、不云爾之眾裔、而指多人、乃云爾裔、而指一人、即基督也、

凡所見之地、我必賜爾及爾後裔至於永遠、

主諭摩西曰、昔我與亞伯拉罕以撒雅各立誓、許之曰、必以迦南地、賜爾後裔云、今爾與所導出伊及之民、可由此以往彼地、

亞伯蘭在彼籲主之名、

雅各名其地曰毘努伊勒、毘努伊勒譯即覿神之義言雖與神覿面、而生命尚存、

由彼遷於山、即在伯特利東、以張其幕、西有伯特利、東有艾、在彼又為主建祭臺而籲主名、

出伊及之眾、自二十歲以上者、因不忠心從我、必不得見我誓賜亞伯拉罕以撒雅各之地、

以撒在彼建祭臺、籲主名、遂張幕、其奴鑿井、○

亞伯蘭遂徙至希伯崙之幔利橡樹、張幕而居、在彼為主建祭臺、

此皆至死有信而未得所許者、惟遙望之、即欣喜以待、自謂在世為客旅、為寄居者、

主爾之天主、乃爾之生命、使爾長壽、當敬愛之、聽其命而親慕之、則可久居在主所誓於爾祖亞伯拉罕以撒雅各欲賜之地、

昔主誓於爾祖亞伯拉罕以撒雅各、以斯地賜彼及其後裔、今我陳於爾前、今我陳於爾前或作今我將斯地付爾可入而得之為業、○

主立於梯上、或作立於其側曰、我乃耶和華、即爾祖亞伯拉罕之天主、與以撒之天主、爾所臥之地、悉以賜爾及爾後裔、

兄弟乎、我儕如以撒、乃因應許而為子、

亞伯蘭俯伏於地、天主又諭之曰、

昔主爾之天主誓於爾祖亞伯拉罕以撒雅各、賜爾以地、既導爾入、使爾得非爾所建廣大且美之城邑、

挪亞為主建祭臺、取牲畜及禽鳥諸類之潔者、獻於祭臺為火焚祭、

至天主所示之處、亞伯拉罕在彼建祭臺、臚列其柴、縛子以撒置於祭臺之柴上、

旅於斯地、我必祐爾、賜福於爾、我以此列邦賜爾及爾後裔、昔我與爾父亞伯拉罕誓、我必踐其言、

昔我顯現於亞伯拉罕以撒雅各、彼但知我名為全能之天主、惟我耶和華之名、彼不得知、

是則非肉體所生者為天主之子、惟所應許之子、方視之為裔、

在彼建祭臺、稱其名曰以色列天主之祭臺、或作以色列之天主伊勒

當日主與亞伯蘭立約曰、我以斯地賜爾後裔、自伊及河至伯拉大河、
