这两座山不是在约旦河西、日落的地方，在住亚拉巴的迦南人之地，与吉甲相对，靠近摩利橡树那里吗？

他们就把自己手中所有外族人的神像，和自己耳朵上的环子，都交给雅各；雅各把这些东西埋在示剑附近的橡树底下。

因着信，他在应许之地寄居，好像是在异乡，与承受同样应许的以撒、雅各一样住在帐棚里。

牧养亚伯兰牲畜的和牧养罗得牲畜的，起了纷争；当时迦南人和比利洗人还住在那地。

耶路．巴力，就是基甸，和所有与他在一起的人，清早起来，在哈律泉旁安营；米甸营就在他们的北面，靠近摩利山冈的平原上。

亚瓦底人、洗玛利人、哈马人，后来迦南人的宗族分散了。迦南人的境界是从西顿伸向基拉耳，直到迦萨；又伸向所多玛、蛾摩拉、押玛、洗扁，直到拉沙。

于是到了撒玛利亚的一座城，名叫叙加；这城靠近雅各给他儿子约瑟的那块地。

雅各从巴旦．亚兰回来的时候，平平安安地到了迦南地的示剑城，在城的对面支搭了帐棚。

以色列人从埃及带出来的约瑟骸骨，葬在示剑的一块田里；这块田是雅各从前用一百块银子向示剑的父亲哈抹的子孙那里买来的；这块田就成了约瑟子孙的产业。

耶路．巴力的儿子亚比米勒，到示剑去见他的众母舅，对他们和他母亲的全体族人说：

迦南生了长子西顿，又生赫，

于是以色列人在拿弗他利山地，把加利利的基低斯分别出来；在以法莲山地，把示剑分别出来；在犹大山地，把基列．亚巴分别出来，基列．亚巴就是希伯仑；

罗波安往示剑去，因为以色列众人都到了示剑，要立他作王。

就在那时候，耶和华与亚伯兰立约说：“我已经把这地赐给你的后裔了，就是从埃及河直到幼发拉底河之地；就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亚摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人、耶布斯人之地。”

当地的首长，希未人哈抹的儿子示剑，看见她，就拉住她，把她强奸，污辱了她。

运到示剑，埋葬在亚伯拉罕用银子向哈抹子孙买来的坟地里。
