埃及人看見你的時候，就會說『這是他的妻子』，然後殺了我，卻讓你存活。

When the Egyptians see you, they will say,‘ This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will let you live.

亞伯拉罕回答：「因為我想這地方一定沒有敬畏神的人，他們會因我妻子的緣故殺了我。

每當那地方的人問起他的妻子，他就說：「她是我的妹妹。」原來他害怕說「她是我的妻子」；他想：「恐怕這地方的人會因莉百加的緣故殺我」，因為莉百加容貌美麗。

對人的懼怕，會成為陷阱；依靠耶和華的，安穩在高處。

你們不要怕那些能殺死身體卻不能殺死靈魂的；反而倒要懼怕那位能把靈魂和身體都毀滅在地獄裡的。

大衛心裡說：「我總有一天會死在掃羅手中，已經別無選擇，只能逃到非利士人之地；這樣，掃羅就會放棄，不會繼續在以色列全境尋索我，我也就逃脫他的手了。」

如果我們說自己沒有罪，我們就是在欺騙自己，真理就不在我們裡面了；如果我們承認自己的罪孽，神是信實的、公義的，他就會赦免我們的罪孽，潔淨我們脫離一切的不義。如果我們說自己沒有犯罪，我們就是把神當做說謊者，他的話語就不在我們裡面了。
