耶穌回答說：「你們沒有讀過嗎？太初，造物主造了男人和女人，並且說，

太初創造時，『上帝造了男人和女人。』

以下是關於亞當後代的記載。上帝造人的時候，是照祂自己的形像造的。祂造了男人和女人，又賜福給他們，在創造他們的那日稱他們為「人」。

我們是上帝的傑作，是在基督耶穌裡創造的，為要叫我們做祂預先安排給我們的美善之事。

上帝不是把你們結合為一體，叫你們肉體和心靈都歸祂嗎？祂為何這樣做？是為了得敬虔的後裔。所以，要看管好你們的心，不可對自己年輕時所娶的妻子不忠。

耶和華上帝說：「那人獨自一人不好，我要為他造一個相配的幫手。」

然而，男人不該蒙頭，因為男人是上帝的形像和榮耀，而女人是男人的榮耀。因為男人並非出自女人，而女人卻是出自男人。並且男人不是為女人而造的，女人卻是為男人而造的。

所有屬於我的人都要回來，他們是我為自己的榮耀而創造的。

基督是那不能看見之上帝的真像，超越一切受造之物。

這道是歷世歷代一直隱藏的奧祕，現在已經向祂的眾聖徒顯明了。
