Not even those who are circumcised keep the law, yet they want you to be circumcised that they may boast about your circumcision in the flesh.

你們自誇不是好事，豈不知小小的一點麵酵，足以使整團麵發起來嗎？

因為真正受割禮的人是我們這些靠著上帝的靈敬拜、以基督耶穌為榮、不倚靠自身條件的人。

你自稱是猶太人，倚仗上帝所賜的律法，自誇與上帝有特別的關係；你受過律法的教導，知道上帝的旨意，能明辨是非；你自信可以做盲人的嚮導、黑暗中的人的光、愚昧人的師傅、小孩子的老師，因為你從律法中得到了知識和真理。那麼，你這教導別人的，為什麼不教導自己呢？你教導人不可偷盜，自己卻偷盜嗎？你告訴他人不可通姦，自己卻通姦嗎？你憎惡偶像，自己卻去偷廟裡的東西嗎？你以律法自誇，自己卻違犯律法羞辱上帝嗎？正如聖經上說：「因你們的緣故，上帝的名在外族人中受到褻瀆！」如果你遵行律法，割禮才有價值；如果你違犯律法，受了割禮也如同未受割禮。

「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！因為你們走遍海洋和陸地去引人入教，等人入了教，卻使他淪為地獄之子，比你們還壞兩倍。

因此，誰都不要仗著人誇耀，因為萬物都屬於你們，

你們要遵行他們的教導，但不要效法他們的行為，因為他們言行不一。

「虛偽的律法教師和法利賽人啊，你們有禍了！你們把薄荷、茴香、芹菜獻上十分之一，卻忽略了律法中更重要的事——公正、憐憫、信實。後者是你們本該做的，前者也不可忽略。

他們應許那些人可以得自由，而自己卻做罪惡的奴隸，因為人被什麼制伏，就被什麼奴役。

那麼，我們猶太人比別人優越嗎？絕對不是！我們已經說過，無論是猶太人還是希臘人，所有的人都身陷罪中。正如聖經上說：「沒有義人，一個也沒有，沒有人明白，沒有人尋求上帝。人人偏離正路，變得毫無價值。沒有人行善，一個也沒有。他們的喉嚨是敞開的墳墓，舌頭上盡是詭詐，嘴唇有蛇的毒液，滿口咒詛，言語惡毒；殺人流血，腳步飛快；所到之處，大肆毀滅；平安之路，他們未曾知道；他們眼中毫無對上帝的畏懼。」我們知道律法所講的都是針對律法之下的人，好叫所有的人都無話可說，使全世界都伏在上帝的審判之下。

既然許多人憑血氣誇口，我當然也可以誇口。
