弟兄們，我若仍舊傳割禮，為甚麼還受迫害呢？若是這樣，十字架絆倒人的地方就沒有了。

有幾個人從猶太下來，教導弟兄們說：「你們若不按照摩西的規矩受割禮，不能得救。」

但跟我同去的提多，雖是希臘人，也沒有勉強他受割禮；

這些規條使人徒有智慧之名，用私意崇拜，自表謙卑，苦待己身，其實在克制肉體的情慾上毫無功效。

那樣的人是假使徒，行事詭詐，裝作基督的使徒。

憑着自己說的人是尋求自己的榮耀；但那尋求差他來那位的榮耀的人，他是真誠的，在他心裏沒有不義。

他們所做的一切事都是要讓人看見，所以把佩戴的經匣加寬了，衣裳的繸子加長了，

惟有幾個法利賽派的信徒起來，說：「必須給外邦人行割禮，吩咐他們遵守摩西的律法。」

有些人傳基督是出於嫉妒紛爭；有些人是出於好意。

他們那些受割禮的，連自己也不守律法；他們要你們受割禮，不過是要拿你們的肉體誇口。

耶穌對他們說：「你們是在人面前自稱為義的，你們的心，上帝卻知道；因為人以為尊貴的，是上帝看為可憎惡的。

「你們禁食的時候，不可像那假冒為善的人，臉上帶着愁容；因為他們蓬頭垢面，故意讓人看出他們在禁食。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。

他們侵吞寡婦的家產，假意作很長的禱告。這些人要受更重的懲罰！」

各人不要單顧自己的事，也要顧別人的事。

因為我們不敢將自己和某些自我推薦的人並列相比；他們用自己度量自己，用自己比較自己，是不明智的。

「所以，你施捨的時候，不可叫人在你前面吹號，像那假冒為善的人在會堂裏和街道上所做的，故意要得人的稱讚。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。

你們也是如此，外面對人顯出公義，裏面卻滿了虛偽和不法的事。

但我一看見他們做得不對，與福音的真理不合，就在眾人面前對磯法說：「你既是猶太人，卻按照外邦人的樣子，不按照猶太人的樣子生活，怎麼能勉強外邦人按照猶太人的樣子生活呢？」

因為，我屢次告訴你們，現在又流淚告訴你們：許多人行事是基督十字架的仇敵。

「你們禱告的時候，不可像那假冒為善的人，愛站在會堂裏和十字路口禱告，故意讓人看見。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。
