弟兄們，如果我仍舊傳割禮，我為甚麼還受迫害呢？若是這樣，十字架絆倒人的地方就沒有了。

與我同行的提多，雖然是希臘人，也沒有強迫他受割禮；

在隨著己意敬拜，故作謙卑，和苦待己身等事上，似乎是智慧之言，其實只能叫人放縱肉體，再沒有任何價值。

這樣的人是假使徒，是詭詐的工人，裝成基督的使徒。

那憑著自己的意思說的，是求自己的榮譽；但那尋求差他來者的榮耀的，才是真誠的人，在他裡面沒有不義。

他們所作的一切，都是要作給人看：他們把經文的匣子做大了，衣服的繸子做長了；

然而有幾個法利賽派的信徒站起來，說：“我們必須給外族人行割禮，吩咐他們遵守摩西的律法。”

有些人傳揚基督是出於嫉妒和紛爭，但也有些人是出於好意。

那些受割禮的人，自己也不遵守律法，反而要你們受割禮，為的是要藉著你們的肉身誇口。

耶穌對他們說：“你們在人面前自稱為義，神卻知道你們的心；因為人所高舉的，神卻看作是可憎惡的。

“你們禁食的時候，不可像偽君子那樣愁眉苦臉，他們裝成難看的樣子，叫人看出他們在禁食。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。

他們吞沒了寡婦的房產，又用冗長的禱告作掩飾。這等人必受更重的刑罰。”

各人不要單顧自己的事，也要顧別人的事。

我們不敢和那些自我推薦的人相提並論；他們拿自己來量自己，拿自己來比自己，實在不大聰明。

因此你施捨的時候，不可到處張揚，好像偽君子在會堂和街上所作的一樣，以博取眾人的稱讚。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。

照樣，你們外面看來像義人，裡面卻充塞著虛偽和不法。

但我一見他們所行的不合福音的真理，就當眾對磯法說：“你是猶太人，生活既然像外族人而不像猶太人，怎麼還勉強外族人跟隨猶太人的規矩呢？”

我常常告訴你們，現在又流著淚說，有許多人行事為人，是基督十字架的仇敵，

“你們祈禱的時候，不可像偽君子；他們喜歡在會堂和路口站著祈禱，好讓人看見。我實在告訴你們，他們已經得了他們的賞賜。
