撒拉看见那埃及人夏甲给亚伯拉罕所生的儿子在嬉戏，

弟兄们，如果我仍旧传割礼，我为什么还受迫害呢？若是这样，十字架绊倒人的地方就没有了。

如果随着肉体而活，你们必定死；如果靠着圣灵治死身体的恶行，你们就必活着。

因此，我差派先知、智慧人和经学家到你们那里；有些你们要杀害又钉在十字架上，有些你们要在会堂里鞭打，从一个城赶逐到另一个城。所以，从义人亚伯的血起，到巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血为止，他就是你们在圣所和祭坛中间所杀的，所有义人在地上所流的血，都要归在你们身上。我实在告诉你们，这一切都必临到这个世代。“耶路撒冷，耶路撒冷啊，你杀害先知，又用石头把奉派到你们那里的人打死。我多次想招聚你的儿女，好像母鸡招聚小鸡到翅膀底下，只是你们不愿意。

父怎样爱我，我也怎样爱你们；你们要住在我的爱里。

耶稣回答：“我实实在在告诉你，人若不是从水和圣灵生的，就不能进神的国。

弟兄们，你们好像犹太地在基督耶稣里神的众教会一样，他们怎样遭受犹太人的迫害，你们也照样遭受同族人的迫害。这些犹太人杀了主耶稣和众先知，又把我们赶出来。他们得不到神的喜悦，并且和所有的人作对，

有时在众人面前被辱骂，遭患难；有时却成了遭遇同样情形的人的同伴。你们同情那些遭监禁的人；你们的家业被抢夺的时候，又以喜乐的心接受，因为知道自己有更美长存的家业。

但那出于婢女的，是按着肉体生的；那出于自由的妇人的，是凭着应许生的。

所以现在，那些在耶稣基督里的人就不被定罪了；

那些在外表上要体面的人，他们勉强你们受割礼，不过是怕为了基督的十字架受迫害。那些受割礼的人，自己也不遵守律法，反而要你们受割礼，为的是要藉着你们的肉身夸口。至于我，我绝不以别的夸口，只夸我们主耶稣基督的十字架。藉着这十字架，在我来说，世界已经钉在十字架上了；就世界来说，我也已经钉在十字架上了。
