Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness,

即亞伯漢亦未始非因篤信天主、而稱義焉。

So also Abraham“ believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.”

In the same way, Abraham“ believed God. God was pleased with Abraham because he believed. So his faith made him right with God.”( Genesis 15:6)

just like Abraham who believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness?

Just as Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.

Even as Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned unto him for righteousness.

Abram believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness.

because he was fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.Therefore, it was credited to him for righteousness.

So the Scripture was fulfilled that says, Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness, and he was called God’s friend.

but also for us. It will be credited to us who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.

For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.Now to the one who works, pay is not considered as a gift, but as something owed.But to the one who does not work, but believes on Him who declares the ungodly to be righteous, his faith is credited for righteousness.Likewise, David also speaks of the blessing of the man God credits righteousness to apart from works:

Is this blessing only for the circumcised, then? Or is it also for the uncircumcised? For we say, Faith was credited to Abraham for righteousness.In what way then was it credited— while he was circumcised, or uncircumcised? Not while he was circumcised, but uncircumcised.And he received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while still uncircumcised. This was to make him the father of all who believe but are not circumcised, so that righteousness may be credited to them also.

That is, in Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed the message of reconciliation to us.Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, certain that God is appealing through us. We plead on Christ’s behalf,“ Be reconciled to God.”He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

So those who have faith are blessed with Abraham, who had faith.

Why is that? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone.As it is written: Look! I am putting a stone in Zion to stumble over and a rock to trip over, yet the one who believes on Him will not be put to shame.
