然則律法豈與恩諾相牴牾乎？無是理也。蓋所賜之律法、苟能予人以生命、則吾人所恃以成義者、誠在律法之中矣。

Is there a conflict, then, between God’s law and God’s promises? Absolutely not! If the law could give us new life, we could be made right with God by obeying it.

Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? Far from it! For if a law had been given that was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law.

Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could make alive, verily righteousness would have been of the law.

I do not set aside God’s grace, because if righteousness could come through the law, then Christ died for nothing!

but Israel even though pursuing a law of righteousness did not attain it.

For no one is declared righteous before him by the works of the law, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin.But now apart from the law the righteousness of God( which is attested by the law and the prophets) has been disclosed–namely, the righteousness of God through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction,

For ignoring the righteousness that comes from God, and seeking instead to establish their own righteousness, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.For Christ is the end of the law, with the result that there is righteousness for everyone who believes.For Moses writes about the righteousness that is by the law:“ The one who does these things will live by them.”But the righteousness that is by faith says:“ Do not say in your heart,‘ Who will ascend into heaven?’”( that is, to bring Christ down)

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Absolutely not! Certainly, I would not have known sin except through the law. For indeed I would not have known what it means to desire something belonging to someone else if the law had not said,“ Do not covet.”But sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of wrong desires. For apart from the law, sin is dead.And I was once alive apart from the law, but with the coming of the commandment sin became aliveand I died. So I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life brought death!For sin, seizing the opportunity through the commandment, deceived me and through it I died.So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy, righteous, and good.Did that which is good, then, become death to me? Absolutely not! But sin, so that it would be shown to be sin, produced death in me through what is good, so that through the commandment sin would become utterly sinful.

For through the law I died to the law so that I may live to God.

Do we then nullify the law through faith? Absolutely not! Instead we uphold the law.

Absolutely not! Let God be proven true, and every human being shown up as a liar, just as it is written:“ so that you will be justified in your words and will prevail when you are judged.”

But if while seeking to be justified in Christ we ourselves have also been found to be sinners, is Christ then one who encourages sin? Absolutely not!

“ Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have not come to abolish these things but to fulfill them.I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth pass away not the smallest letter or stroke of a letter will pass from the law until everything takes place.So anyone who breaks one of the least of these commands and teaches others to do so will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever obeys them and teaches others to do so will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.For I tell you, unless your righteousness goes beyond that of the experts in the law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

Absolutely not! For otherwise how could God judge the world?

In my zeal for God I persecuted the church. According to the righteousness stipulated in the law I was blameless.But these assets I have come to regard as liabilities because of Christ.More than that, I now regard all things as liabilities compared to the far greater value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things– indeed, I regard them as dung!– that I may gain Christ,and be found in him, not because I have my own righteousness derived from the law, but because I have the righteousness that comes by way of Christ’s faithfulness– a righteousness from God that is in fact based on Christ’s faithfulness.

By faith Noah, when he was warned about things not yet seen, with reverent regard constructed an ark for the deliverance of his family. Through faith he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.
