然則律法與天主之許相反乎、非也、若賜以能致生之律法、則人必由律法可得稱義、

然則律法豈與恩諾相牴牾乎？無是理也。蓋所賜之律法、苟能予人以生命、則吾人所恃以成義者、誠在律法之中矣。

Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.

So is the law opposed to God’s promises? Certainly not! What if a law had been given that could give life? Then people could become right with God by obeying the law.

Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.

Is there a conflict, then, between God’s law and God’s promises? Absolutely not! If the law could give us new life, we could be made right with God by obeying it.

Is the law therefore contrary to God’s promises? Absolutely not! For if the law had been granted with the ability to give life, then righteousness would certainly be on the basis of the law.

Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? Far from it! For if a law had been given that was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law.

Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

Is the law therefore contrary to God’s promises? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that was able to give life, then righteousness would certainly be by the law.

For being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.For Christ is the end of the law unto righteousness to every one that believeth.For Moses writeth that the man that doeth the righteousness which is of the law shall live thereby.But the righteousness which is of faith saith thus, Say not in thy heart, Who shall ascend into heaven?( that is, to bring Christ down:)

What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Howbeit, I had not known sin, except through the law: for I had not known coveting, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet:but sin, finding occasion, wrought in me through the commandment all manner of coveting: for apart from the law sin is dead.And I was alive apart from the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died;and the commandment, which was unto life, this I found to be unto death:for sin, finding occasion, through the commandment beguiled me, and through it slew me.So that the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and righteous, and good.Did then that which is good become death unto me? God forbid. But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, by working death to me through that which is good;— that through the commandment sin might become exceeding sinful.

For I through the law died unto the law, that I might live unto God.

Do we then make the law of none effect through faith? God forbid: nay, we establish the law.

God forbid: yea, let God be found true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy words, And mightest prevail when thou comest into judgment.

But if, while we sought to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, is Christ a minister of sin? God forbid.

Think not that I came to destroy the law or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil.For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished.Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.For I say unto you, that except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.

God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

as touching zeal, persecuting the church; as touching the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless.Howbeit what things were gain to me, these have I counted loss for Christ.Yea verily, and I count all things to be loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but refuse, that I may gain Christ,and be found in him, not having a righteousness of mine own, even that which is of the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith:

By faith Noah, being warned of God concerning things not seen as yet, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
