And God, who knoweth the heart, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Spirit, even as he did unto us;

Then answered Peter,Can any man forbid the water, that these should not be baptized, who have received the Holy Spirit as well as we?

who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit:

And Peter said unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

He therefore that supplieth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit.If then God gave unto them the like gift as he did also unto us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?And when they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then to the Gentiles also hath God granted repentance unto life.

For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

in whom ye also, having heard the word of the truth, the gospel of your salvation,— in whom, having also believed, ye were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,which is an earnest of our inheritance, unto the redemption of God’s own possession, unto the praise of his glory.

For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith: as it is written, But the righteous shall live by faith.

But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit to profit withal.For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom; and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit:to another faith, in the same Spirit; and to another gifts of healings, in the one Spirit;and to another workings of miracles; and to another prophecy; and to another discernings of spirits: to another divers kinds of tongues; and to another the interpretation of tongues:but all these worketh the one and the same Spirit, dividing to each one severally even as he will.For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ.For in one Spirit were we all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all made to drink of one Spirit.

To whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto you, did they minister these things, which now have been announced unto you through them that preached the gospel unto you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or if ye receive a different spirit, which ye did not receive, or a different gospel, which ye did not accept, ye do well to bear with him.
